I did a short video playing my L2000 intoa a vox amplug. The G&L onboard preamp can make anything sound half decent!
Hey Tempy if that beast showed up on my doorstep I'd run out and get a Tetanus shot.
Here's the actual G&L JPJ 'Zep bass. Eats those boring L1K's for brunch and then wears them for a necklace.

if you follow the thread he updates it periodically. Then if you see something you like, get on the horn to Greg @RocketMusic quickly and he often intervene to get that bass into your hands.

Played my first show with my G&L L2000...man gotta say I'm more than impressed...

What sort of tone do you go for man, and how do you dial in your L2000?
yes I do play with a pick, I play NYHC Punk style music. This bass just seems like it was built for this. Tone wise I use both pickups treble all the way bass at about 50% preamp is on with treble boost. I get most of my low end from my Sans Amp Bass Driver. What it sounds like it's a cross between Craig Setari from Sick of it All and Davide Gentile from the first Orange 9mm record. Both of which are huge influences on my playing.

G&L's are rock personified.
My Recent G&L acquisition is Mahogany body L2000 of the similar era with plenty of stage wear. I'm still learning about vintage G&L... What are the significance of:
- Series E Basses?
- Slot pole pieces.... I have them, but this really didnt occur to me until I read earlier in the thread & went back and looked at my own bass

Below are some photos the seller took when I was looking to buy the bass, showing her beauty marks:
E indicates the bass has active preamp. Early examples without the E were passive before all L2000s were eventually switched active.
Pole piece height on G&L MFDs are individually adjustable. Early versions of this design were slotted before switching over to hex head adjustment screws.
