Do you guys know if a CLF L-1000 can be ordered through the custom shop in a different finish than what is advertised?
knock,knock,,,new prospect to the club..my first and only G&L(so far....) my first 5,er though it was a love hate relationship at the start it gets a lot of love and respect now,(the more I get used to it) I love tobacco sunburst,,since I was a wee laddy its the color Ive always been captivated by... cheers!

Has anybody done a series/parallel mod on their Lynx??? It's such a great sounding bass but I bet a series option on one would be amazing!!!!. Not to mention it would open up more tones.
Before I got my Lynx I read somewhere that the output was kind of meh. That's total BS. Maybe compared to an L2K, but it's not fair to any bass to be compared to an L2K
On the Lynx the bridge pickup is powerful and the neck pup can more than hold its own solo'd. Mine has more output than some of my basses with active pre's.
I bet putting those two pups in series would make it breath fire. And a push/pull would be non invasive and totally camouflaged. I'm going to look into doing it.

Yup. It sounds utterly massive. It gets a bit of P bass character with big, fat low mids. You lose some treble response.
My bass is a first gen SB-2, but essentially the same bass as a Lynx. I replaced the 3 position selector switch with a 4 way I bought from Stew Mac. There was one hiccup - the 4 way switch needs more depth than the original, so I had to mod the switch a bit to get the solder tabs out of the way. It works perfectly fine, but if was to do it again I'd check to see if a push/pull would fit.

Neck & bridge pickups in the Lynx as well as the 1st generation SB2 are identical with the same output. I think you're confusing comments made about the 2nd generation SB2 which has a different pickup in the bridge position- similar looking but weaker. If you want tonal options put in a blend pot- BIG difference. That's my plan for my 1st gen SB2 fretted & fretless pair. IMO all G&L's with two pickups should come from the factory that way.
