Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Fullerton Standard and Deluxe models are?
Fullerton Standard had a non-tint satin neck, but that line has been dropped. Fullerton Deluxe has a vintage tint gloss neck. Of course both lines have limited color and fretboard combinations.
If I hadn't already seen that yesterday, I would be cursing you in ways that would make Andrew Dice Clay blush.
The El Toro has an onboard preamp and MFD mini-humbuckers. The neck pickup is approximately in the P bass position and the bridge pickup is in approximately a Jazz bass bridge pickup's location. The controls are volume, bass, treble; the switches are pickup select (neck/both/bridge), both pickups in series (sometimes called "bass boost"), and active/passive.
There was a very small number of El Toros made that were passive only. I've only seen pictures of two of them.
What's it going to take to make this happen? CLF El Toro...for reals.

Looks like it in the CLF pic. It appears that they got the black hardware right, I wonder if it's "crinkled" like the originals were. I don't recall ever seeing an original with a maple board either, but wouldn't be too surprised if some may exist.
I also wonder if the new CLF mini buckers are spec'd identically. Not that it matters much, I'm sure the CLF version would sound great either way, but still curious.
OTOH, seeing this possible Toro reissue, has me wondering about the possibility of a future Lynx reissue. If that were to actually happen, and they were available with an empress body.....(gulp)
