@richwag What gauge Chromes? My first foray into flats, I tried the “medium gauge” Chromes (50-105) because I liked a 105 E on some roundwound sets I was using at the time. I felt like I was fighting with telephone cables. I’ve been much happier moving down to the “regular light” set (45-100).
I'm about to string up a Kiloton with GHS Balanced Nickels (40-101). Never tried those before. Any thoughts? GHS Boomers used to be my standard but I haven't used GHS in probably 20 years.

I'll bet the BN's open the Kiloton up more than it already is. They ring like piano strings when first installed but settle down beautifully. I think they'll "kill" on the Kiloton
.Well, hopefully they’ll settle in and/or you get used to them. It’s been years since I bought a new set of Chromes, so I sort of forget how they change as they break in. The Chromes on my L-2000 are at least 4 years old. They are stiffer than most rounds, but I find them quite comfortable. Maybe I’ve just gotten used to them. You can probably lower your action a hair... I find you can usually get the action a little lower with a stiffer string, which in turn reduces how much you have to press down when fretting (though doesn’t do much for bending).

All flats to some degree. Some have more tension than others. I haven't tried Chromes, but I find Roto 77s are more than I can handle for a 4 hour gig. I know the TI flats are spendy, but I find them to be perfect for me.
So far you're right! I am really liking these strings. The feel is great and they sound quite alive. They are a round core so I hope that tuning isn't an issue but I've never had problems with G&Ls staying in tune. Most basses for that matter. I like the gauge sizes too. So many strings...I hope to settle on one line/brand for rounds and one for flats!
I use GHS BN's 44-106 on both of my G&L USA JB4'S , my G&L USA SB2-T , and my CIJ Fender Geddy Lee JB .... absolutely love them and will use them until they quit making them ! (you can see my opinion of them in the TB store )
Yeah man! I have them on MY CIJ Fender Geddy Lee Jazz, my G&L JB4 and my G&L LB-100. I had a beautiful US SB-2 but traded it for the G&L JB and I'm very happy with the trade.

I already have one of my JB's in 3tsb and I'm trying not to have any two that close......Just wait and see what the cat drags in on mondays NBD !!

Like I mentioned, it's as psychotic as Christmas again.
I honestly like my job, but I won't lie... some of the things folks are using stimulus money for is beyond ridiculous, which makes it even more difficult on us, coupled with those who believe we have an easy job to begin with that have no clue what we go through... they don't see the 2-300 other customers plus 50 miles we've dealt with before getting to them or the ones after... and don't get me started on the death trap trucks they put us in...

Yes, do get a Kiloton! You won't regret it. I'm kinda in the same boat. Got my Kiloton last year, LB-100 this year, and now I'm already window shopping. Wife-type is having none of it, though, so I'll probably need to wait a while...
I would really like to get a Kiloton 5 or L 1505 at some point. Anyone ever played both and compared them?

Sounds like GHS BNs and G&L go well together! I'm finding that while they are nice and lively they don't need to be tamed. They seem quite good right out of the package. I hope they stay that way for awhile. I'm not a "dead string" guy except for my semi-hollow strung with flats.
Wondering what the Pressurewounds are like in comparison?
A sweet spot pickup with some versatility, I like aggressive but also have the ability to tame it a little.
They seem similar to me but I've never played either. What are the major differences for you?
I played Pressurewounds for a couple of years. I like the smoother feel of them and initially, I wanted more grind for the bass/amp combinations I was playing. But over time I found that the Pressurewounds were too grindy for me. I had them on my SB-2 into a Mesa D-800/SW112/SW115. Man, you want aggressive - try that on for size.
I've also found that the MFD pickups aren't for me. But my LB-100, JB and Geddy Lee Jazz are monsters with BN's. I don't need more and don't want less
