G&L Club Part 7

You're right. The Matador is built with the CLF body and neck and they only offer that one neck profile. Fortunately it feels great!

I ordered a JB with Matador pickups, that will have a 1.5" neck. So it can be done.

Just to emphasize what you already know. It can be done... thru the custom shop! :)

So you’ll have a J with two P-bass pickups? Nice!

Just got word that my Matador has entered production. Unfortunately, the 1.5" nut spacing is not available as an option for the Matador, so I'm gonna have to stick to 1 5/8". A bit of a bummer, but I'm sure it'll be a killer bass either way :)

Same thing with mine, but the 1 5/8 is pretty comfy and not too chunky.

I saw that and thought it was cool, but my basses are not option order!

it was a nice idea, no harm trying

Definitely a nice idea! The reason I haven't talked about mine previously is I hate waiting, so I get all worked up over the details and try to figure out exactly what I want. Finish color is especially hard for me.

Once I complete the order, my best coping mechanism is to try to forget that I've made the order! It's impossible, of course, but I find it much easier to handle the wait if I push the idea away and only think about it occasionally. It worked really well on my nearly 3 year wait for a new Wal bass some years back!

I have the specs in a message from Greg at Rocket Music, and I'll look at that every other month or so, then try to forget again.
