OOPS I DID IT AGAIN...

Tribute Kiloton. Used, from the same shop I got my L-2000 Tribute a month or so ago. Absolutely flawless, not so much as a fingerprint on it!
I had been eyeing one of the "Irish Red Ale" finish & maple board Kiloton Tributes online, but this one was there, local & I could have it right now. And the black & white look good next to each other.

As for sourcing the pot itself, I have no suggestions beyond seeing if G&L will get back to you.

As for an option to work around it, you may want to read this:

Also, for whatever pot you order, you want to make sure the threaded part of the shaft is 3/4" or 19mm or thereabouts.

So to update...I did email G&L and the person linked me to the US bass 1meg bass pot and told me it will work on the Tribute (??) I made it clear I have a Tribute, that doesnt have a pickguard, will have to go through that body, and explained I thought it would be a different size, he said no it will work (again, ??). Anyway, my tech decided to order it to see if he could make it work at all and if not, will keep the existing bass pot. As I said, I likely wont mess with that at all so it can stay if need be. He is already changing out the treble.

this is an excellent question. The only one I know is the bass player for Tesla. I don't know his name. Brian something. I think jerry cantrell uses G&L guitars but other than those two I don't know any pros that use them

Not sure what he records with, but Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith has been with G&L for a long time and uses them on stage.

I picked up one of those white Kiloton Tributes recently too. If it ever becomes possible to buy different pickguards for them, I suspect a black pickguard would do wonders for the looks.

Tom Hamilton (Aerosmith) has a signature ASAT model. Should be plenty of live YouTube with the instrument given how long the signature model has been around.

Of course the much-respected Bass Whisperer, Ed Friedland (@edfriedland), has been playing and talking up his L-1000 with the The Mavericks. Saw him and it doing a very enjoyable no-audience set of Spanish language songs on PBS recently. They both sounded great!
