@dave64o

wow, very cool finish

I presently own 5 G&L Tributes.....with #6 on the way. This one will be VERY VERY special. I bought a bass exactly like one I have......with the intent of it becoming highly modified. Late next week, the body is being shipped to Marty Bell for a special pant job. I have a replacement pickup on the way and a replacement pickguard to be ordered. I can't wait for this one to come together.
And now for a dramatic turn of events.....

Welp the bass arrived......and.....I can't paint it. The grain is WAY too nice. This bass is fan-friggin-tastic. I have a bass exactly like it. That one is being disassembled this evening, the EMG Geezer swapped into the new one and the body body shipped off to be painted. :) When I ordered it I said to myself "I'll just paint the lesser of the 2." I didn't expect the second one to be even better.

THIS folks is why I have 6 G&L Tributes.

No, it didn't. No pictures, no bass. It's all just a fairy tale. Nope, no bass arrived. There is no bass. Nope, I don't see no bass.

Do you see a bass? I don't see no bass...

And I don't see the other one that's actually gonna get painted, either. Just sayin'...

C'mon....

Yes, I know the damn rules. ;)

Let me take some pictures while I do some swapping and disassembly.

After a little bit of start/stop, I was able to get the Best Bass Gear wiring harness installed in the SB-2T so now I have a V-B-T configuration. I'm VERY happy with the results and the new configuration. All my two pickup basses have that setup now so moving from one to the other is very seamless.

I don't notice much if any difference sonically from the CTS pots to Noble pots but they do seem smoother. In any case, thanks again for all the suggestions. I'm looking forward to my next soldering project!

Here are the pictures that I promised. The one on the RIGHT (with G&L inspection sticker) is the new one.
