Nice! I briefly played with a southern rock group a few years ago and we did Six Ways To Sunday.

What kind of strings do you have on the Toro?

sure, some you've heard a million times, but with both female and male singers we have a good variety of old and new country.

No wonder no one bought it. The dang thing is backwards!

Nice score! That's a nice finish, too. Lools like that's the same orange that's in my cherryburst L-2500. Very pretty.

What kind of straight edge for L2500.

I would like to be able to adjust the truss rod on an L2500. I've read about whether to use a simple straight edge versus a notched straight edge but if I want to try the latter, when I look for notched ones, I see they have them for various companies like Fender on one side, Gibson on the other, etc. but I haven't seen one for a G&L.

Has anyone used one for their G&L bass and if, so, which one? Also, I'm assuming it's the same for all G&L's?

I just hold down the top string at the first and last fret. Makes a nice straight edge.

I capo the first fret and hold down the last then I have a spare hand to asses or measure the relief.

So just to understand. If I use a capo on top of the first fret and then hold down the last fret with my hand, if I look at the neck from the side, the actual string will show any bend in the neck? Seems simple enough. Is this correct?

Yep. Then get out your feeler gauges and measure at the mid-point (fret 8 on my 20-fret aerodyne) the distance between fret and string. Righty-tighty the truss rod to raise the action, lefty-loosey to lower the action. Tune. Check for buzz. Rinse and repeat...

EDIT: This is backwards as pointed out below. I need my nap...

A notched straight edge will allow you to get the neck level in order to do a fret leveling job, but for general relief, use the string as mentioned.

??????? It's not the other way? Tighten to straighten the neck (lower the action) and loosen to add more relief (raise the action)?
