G&L Fallout Bass

I just finished my first run with the Mavericks using my new custom shop Fallout bass, and it exceeded all my expectations! I asked for a light one, so they made it out of Pine. I was intrigued, never heard of Pine for bass, but apparently Leo tried it. It was too soft and dented easily… but with a poly finish, it’s not a concern. It sounds great and weighs 7.25lbs. End of subject! I also had them give me the L1K-style EQ - this pickup really needs separate controls IMO, there is soooo much information coming through, I find I run the lows around halfway and that’s PLENTY! Anyway… with LaBella 760FMs on it… this is my new happy place! I love playing this bass! #glguitars #falloutbass

Damn Ed, tasty! Signature Bass Whisperer Fallout when?

Is anyone having issues getting a strong, clean tone with this bass at band levels? It seems like no matter what I do I keep getting a bit of a distorted sound especially when using the OMG mode, which is by far my favorite. Any suggestions?
Pickup is hot. Over 85% and it’ll distort the input of my comp. I just keep mine dialed back a bit and it’s fine.

Just checked out the Mavs on YT, I love it!

I see a mic on your cab- is there any amount of DI to FOH or are they exclusively using your speaker sound for that thicc Latin bass sound?

This is why I prefer the two-band EQ, I don’t want to roll back the volume, but I run my bass control about 40% up, treble maybe 10% - the amp takes it from there.

Sounds great, unfortunately we don't have that option ... that aside, I'm loving my Fallout, I was lucky to get a Miami blue stripe in a good trade so I'm very happy. Cool bass alongside my JMJ Mustang and EBMM Short Scale Stingray ... The whole family of shorties !!

Can someone confirm what scale length the strings on these are?
Medium or short?
Also, has anyone tried TI flats on their Fallout? Sweetwater messed up my order of Labella flats (now out of stock, they sent the wrong length) and will ship a set of TI Jazz ones in their stead, if I want. Should I go for it or wait for the labella to be back in stock?
