I have never figured out what muscle cars and musical instruments have to do with each other.

Quite a bit - The Fender plant was in the locale of a burgeoning car culture mix of the time, and the car paints provided great colors of classic guitar/bass models being made. Just kinda a co-birth of two culturally exploding things that has stuck in the DNA

Right you are about the history ^. But I felt that if I had allowed for any of this context to my original post, the snark factor would have been diminished. :cautious:

It is, of course, and interesting co-evolution, cars and electric instruments. It's probably my grounding in classical and acoustic music that make me unappreciative of the resulting aesthetics.

Anyway, aesthetics aside, the Fallout (sorry, what is up with these names? Fallout, Kiloton, ASAT...is G&L also a defense contractor?) is a cool new offering.

In the words of Davie504 - OMG

I've always loved the sound, playability, and quality construction of G&L basses... but the one thing that they always seemed to fall flat on is that they didn't have a good sense of style.

They really just seemed to be utilitarian, and not "sexy".

This one is dripping with style and they may have a runaway hit on their hands. I'm definitely interested at this point.

Agreed. Steve's playing doesn't do it for me. Ed has been back with the BW vids, so maybe he'll do it?
Yes, I hope Ed covers this sometime soon.
I'm not trying to bash Steve. His skills are way over what I can do. I just wish he would have practiced on this short scale machine and then done a few takes, then picked the best one. I have lots of interest in one of these, so I was more frustrated than anything, hearing all that annoying noise. It was a turn off, knowing this video was used for the brand new unveiling of G&L's latest release. Glad they are now a contender in the SS game, though!

I like the yellow cause i'm forever a huge Johnny Thunders fan, and the green because British Racing Green is simply one of the coolest colors EVER (especially against that white PG-WOW). Hoping they are not too expensive for me to get both.
