Are you talking about the Guitar Center and Musician's Friend exclusive all black one? If so, I just ordered that. I could not resist buying an ebony boarded Mustang Bass – first time in Fender's history they've made that. And to make it better, the headstock is black too. It isn't like you can go to any one of a number of places and order a Mustang Bass neck to your specifications, like you can with J and P necks, so I felt it was important to grab an ebony one while I could. Not a fan of the all black look, but it gave me the killer ebony board and matching headstock. Everything else that's part of the all black looks can be replaced. I already have a chrome bridge and tuners, and a mint guard, that will replace the "none more black" parts. Eventually, it'll get a tort guard. First re-fret, it'll get some more radius added, and "vintage" frets.
That’s the one. GC matched the MF sale price. It looks great. It plays nicely. It sounds decent. It’s a nice introduction to the 30” world.
