Well obviously you don't get around enough!
You have a great bass!!!! Don't listen to those who know little about what you play. In a studio, its about how it sounds not whats on the headstock. There are some studio engineers that are not comfortable unless it's something that they are used too. But a really good engineer that's "been around the block" will be a little more open to a good sound rather than a popular name. If they don't understand then don't bother explaining and let your fingers and the sound define you and your playing. Good Luck
