Man, this neck is nuts. Utterly gorgeous.

This is also the first L2k with an okoume body that I've been able to play. Super nice tone, big and full without sounding bloated or dull. This is the smoothest sounding L2k I've ever heard, and I love it!

I'm excited to announce that we're finally ready to launch our new website! It's fully functional now, and we're posting new inventory as fast as we can. I can finally get back to posting new inventory here on TB, and you guys can once again buy directly from our website for the first time in a long time. It's really nice to be back in the e-Commerce game, we've been doing things the hard way for way too long.

This first new G&L that I'm posting is a special order gone wrong. The customer who ordered it was unable to take it when it arrived, so we kept his deposit and we will use that to incentivize this one out the door. All you have to do is add this item to the shopping cart, and you'll automatically see a nice discount applied.

Just to be clear about a couple of the "custom" things. The pickup is a handwound Alnico LB-100 pickup, not the usual MFD you would expect in an SB-1. It's also got La Bella 760N Black Nylon Tapewounds on it. So you can think of this as traditional P bass with a sleeker body. The Clear Forest Green finish is the thin-skin urethane finish found on Custom Shop instruments. Other than that, it's got a few of the usual sort of upgrades: Okoume body, Indian Rosewood fretboard, and a Parchment pickguard.

First come, first serve on this beauty!

You might have seen this bass talked about in the G&L Club thread a few weeks back. I put the story to the best of my recollection in the listing for this G&L SB-1, and I'll quote that here:

A comedy of shipping errors has left me with this mint condition G&L SB-1. This was a special order for a great guy in the UK who unfortunately had to endure about 6 months of "where's my bass?" I shipped it to him and it got to the UK, but the UK postal service claims that the shipping label must have become dislodged. They eventually auctioned it off, and the bass quickly made its way to eBay where it was discovered and brought to the attention of my customer. We acted quickly and persistently to recover the bass with the help of the UK postal service and the cooperation of the guy who purchased it at auction. Thank goodness!

Unfortunately, the thrill was gone for my customer by that point. He never even got to see or hold his dream bass, he just wanted his money back. So many months into this saga, the bass finally arrived back here in Blacksburg, VA. It made the trip back to me with the case just wrapped in bubble wrap, no box. So the case has a couple of small gouges and it is a little worn. The bass itself, however, is in mint condition.

The bass does have CLF Research knobs on it and a set of Rotosound strings. That was all part of the special order for my customer; I installed that stuff as soon as the bass arrived from the G&L factory. The original knobs and strings were included in the case when I shipped it to the UK, but they got lost somewhere along the way.

It's technically brand new, so full warranty will be in effect. However, I'm going to sell this one as a B-Stock item since the case is a little rough. The bass will automatically be discounted when you add it to the shopping cart. First come, first serve!

Many thanks to @Ricky Rioli. He's the poor sod who had his dream-bass buying experience turn into a nightmare. He was patient and helpful throughout the ordeal, and he went way out of his way to help me recover the bass once we had figured out what happened to it. He's a rock star, and I'm very sorry the bass didn't just get delivered to his doorstep in the first place!

Hopefully I can move this one on to a new home quickly so it can start making happy memories for somebody!

Hopefully the story at least has some entertainment value! It's a doozy. LOL

Here's a gorgeous new arrival from G&L! This LB-100 was a special order for @chrisp2g, so it will be headed to its new home shortly.

For anyone keeping score, this bass was ordered late July of last year, so it arrived just a week or two in excess of 6 months.

BTW - Spanish Copper Metallic is technically a discontinued color, but (like Yellow Fever) G&L continues to accept orders for it as long as they have the paint. Let me know if you'd like to order something with either of those two cool colors that may have dropped off the radar!

You also may have noticed that I have ZERO G&L basses in stock at the moment. It's nuts, the supply chain stuff has well and truly bit me for sure. Anyway, I asked my G&L guy the other day if he had any no-home basses, and he sent me a short list. I pounced on three of them, and I hope I got to them in time.

One of them is an SB1 in Yellow Fever with an Indian RW board, Light Tint Satin neck finish and 12" radius. The specs don't mention the pickguard, so I'm assuming 3-ply white. Should be a cool bass, though it's a tad hefty (9.2 lbs according to G&L). Beggars can't be choosers, so I pounced!

I also grabbed a butterscotch ASAT Bass with a maple board and a vintage tint gloss neck finish. Not sure of the weight on that one, I'm hoping for the best.

And I also grabbed a Honeyburst/Maple L-2000 that weighs 8.8 lbs.

I'm anxiously awaiting the invoice for these 3 which would tell me they've shipped. I hope it all comes together.

The SB-1 and the L2000 finally shipped! Man, that took a minute, but I don't care. I'm so anxious to have some inventory again!!

Hubba hubba! This one is just passing through, it's a special order that will be headed to my customer who ordered it later today.

It's an ASAT Bass in Andromeda with white top binding and black neck binding and blocks. The light/dark binding juxtaposed against the dark/light body & neck makes for a gorgeous yin & yang. Great specs!
