yeah. Honestly stacks up well to it’s USA counterpart. Tbh the grain on my sunburst wasn’t the nicest so it was prime for painting

Anyone here ever lay hands on Japanese Tribs? I’ve been curious about them for years. They are as rare as hen’s teeth here, though. And expensive, if you buy them directly from Japan.
I'll add a picture of my 2019 L-2000 Tribute. I already had a CLF L-1000 and wanted to play around with a bass with two pickups. This was on sale at a price that made it difficult to say no. Currently, it's strung with LaBella LTF's. Originally, I had Thomastik Power Bass Rounds on it but thought I'd give the LTF's a try since I have the TI JF344's on the L-1000. I also had a really early L-1000 back in 1980 but sold it a couple of years later and regret it to this day.
Never knew this thread existed. I've had my L2000 and L2500 Tribbys for a couple of months now and finally just got to try one with the band for the first time. Sounded magnificent!
Ok I got the JB2 today. Another heavyweight but I don’t mind. Even after two back surgeries and an upcoming neck surgery I can fortunately still manage heavy Basses. The setup on this one was equally awesome and the punch is tremendous. I grew up playing heavy ash Fenders so the weight and the sound are just right to me.
I may be the only one posting Tributes but I gotta say I played my new LB 100 and JB2 this Saturday and they were both excellent playing and sounding Basses.
I'm between Tributes right now (all US G&Ls) but have had a lot of them over the years (mostly SB2s & JB2s) - all great value and I've preferred the Trib JB2s to the US JB2s over the years, at least tonally. I'm idly looking for another Trib JB2 these days so I'm sure I'll find one one of these days.
Here is my 2018 Tribute and I love it. I have many more expensive Basses but my Tribute is well up there with them for versatility!
Got this a few months ago and can hardly believe what a great playing and sounding bass it is .
My L-2500 Tribute looks like a twin with less wood grain. I’ve noticed under stage lights the light brown areas of mine almost glow red which is very cool. I see the beginning of that color shift in your photo and bet it will do the same. Congratulations on your new bass!
