To each their own. I love the natural/rosewood look and the only time I like natural/maple is if there's a black or brown tort pickguard on it. Natural/maple with no guard is a big "no thanks" for me. But hey, build it how you want it and play that thang :bassist:

What I DON'T care for is rosewood boards with a "natural" body. I LOVE Maple bodies! I love ASH natural bodies! I just PREFER maple boards to go with them.

Here's my 2004 blueburst Korean (supposedly a "+" model) that I picked up in November. I'm still getting used to it. I can get a useable J-tone out of it and the P-bass tone is strong. It's a solid player and is in mint condition. The thing could almost pass for new. I'm thinking of putting some Rotosound tru bass 88's on it for a Latin project I'm just starting to rehearse with.

Picked up a (used to me, but essentially new) 2017 JB-2 Tribute. Nothing short of impressed and blown away by this bass.Obviously it's just my opinion, but this crushes pretty much every mid-level Fender MIM Standard, higher end Squier, and I even prefer it over a Road Worn 60's Jazz Bass I used to own and a MIM 70's Precision I played the other day.

Had one small issue with a ground buzz, but discovered that the ground wire going to the bridge wasn't connected. Removed the bridge, re-seated the ground wire and it's all good now. One thing to note though, the bridge screws, especially the two outermost screws on the bridge are VERY soft metal and I stripped one pretty good removing it (and was using the correct size screwdriver). Wrote an email to G&L late last night and woke up this morning with a reply stating that they were mailing me out some new screws today. Now that's customer service and makes me want to keep an eye out for a nice USA model for the future. Seems like a great company.

The neck is darn near perfect, and the previous owner had hardly any relief in the neck with very low action, and it plays like butter with no rattle when playing through an amp, despite the action and relief. For sure a keeper and again, really impressed with this bass. For $325 with a new Roadrunner hardshell case, it was a no brainer.

didn't know a Tribby Club existed and it seems to have hibernated, but here's mine. love the feel and playability, unfortunately I've found dialing in deep, lush, and broadly desirable tones rather elusive, especially compared to others in my quiver. it looks too good and plays too well to part with and would prefer to resolve the issues without mods but it currently can overwhelm with power and underwhelm in truly great overall tone. flats are overdue to hopefully bring out the glorious sounds I want and expected.

One thing I’m am wondering about is the lack of pickguard. I tend to get a bit of wear on my stingray pickguards from my popping finger, where the fingernail taps the body.

Not that I’m that precious about these things but I’m wondering how quickly this will spoil the finish on this one...
