Happy new GK MB800 Fusion 800 owner here. Love that it effectively has 7 bands of EQ in the same spots I would pick (4 band+deep+presence+contour).

Seems to be the only game in town in terms of a micro amp with a "real" tube section and you can actually hear the tube warmth. Glad the footswitch was included because I wouldn't have bought it but now realize now how nice it is to have.

Is the fan supposed to run much? I don't think mine has come on yet. I returned an Ashdown Retroglide because the fan sounded like an idling 747. So far so good on this one.

She's posed here with a Berg 310 (third driver is on the back). Nice combo. Cab is a sealed design, so the 30 hz deep switch and 40 hz bass control are perfect to offset some of that sealed cab rolloff while still keeping the tight low end. The thing on top is a Markbass tube compressor.

I like Markbass, but folks seem to say you can't really hear the tube vibe coming through in the LM Tube and the GK has more EQ flexibility. I do still own and plan to keep my Markbass 112 combo. It has the old class a/b power section, so I'll probably keep it until it, or I, die.

Is the fan supposed to run much? I don't think mine has come on yet. I returned an Ashdown Retroglide because the fan sounded like an idling 747. So far so good on this one.

The fan is variable speed and only runs when the temp of the output section requires it. It is not just an on or off fan and very, very rarely needs to run at full speed.

Yep. Seems like a great amp so far and the only thing in its class (micro amp with a real tube section). I have eyed the Demeter, but it's twice the cost and at least three times the size.

Has anyone had good luck using the MB200 with a Neo 112 alone? I'm considering downsizing a bit from a Neo 210 to a 112, but I was curious as to how it would compare.

I have that exact combination. I primarily use it in my practice space and it sounds great. I have used it in our Sunday praise band- DI to FOH and 112 for stage volume.

I've been GASing for my first cab and head, and now have a MB500 and CX210 on order. The positive experiences folks have shared made the selection of GK an easy one. I figure when I need to grow, I can easily add a 2nd CX210. Plus I've learned that I should stack them vertically for best effect when the time comes.

Can't wait to try it out. The only wrinkle is that the cab is supposed to be a Christmas gift from my wife. Hopefully she'll let me use it before then.

I have a G-K MB Fusion 800, as well as the 400RB. For a year now I've used a Marshall branded footswitch to switch the boost on and off- picked it up new for about $10 when a store was closing out old stock, and it works great with the 800. However, it doesn't work on the 400. For the 400 I need to use the G-K supplied switch. Why would the Marshall work on one, but not the other, when the G-K one works on both?

Hey I have a question for you GK cab especiality-ists...

I've got a pair of NEO 212-II cabs, running with an old QSC poweramp and a Yamaha PB-1 pre.
I'm thinking of selling/swapping them off for a GK 112MBE-II combo and the MBP 112 extension cab. It's a space issue, also I don't have need of 2 of those cabs! Not generally, and for practical reasons I'd like smaller cartage...

Any thoughts on this? Should that smaller combo+ ext cab be good for a semi-loud rock band? Or an old school roots-reggae thing?

Just want to get an idea of this, Is kinda like a smaller-but-still-potent rig.

Just to downsize I'd go for two NEO112-II's & MB500 (or MB Fusion). Modular and light, small footprint when turned (and stacked) sideways.

Yes, the GK switch will work with both.

Ok... I'm just blogging of my post a few up here. I have NEO 212-II cabs. I play all kinds of music, but am in a semi regular reggae gig. I want to lose a NEO 212, replace it with something either smaller or perhaps more appropriate.

So, what are you trying to achieve? Size/weight reduction? Then add a 112. Or smaller/lighter: 2 212s. Want more low end and loud? Go with a single 410 or louder with 2 410s. Mid growl and solid lows? 2 115s. Even response and versatility? 2 212s.

Mixing cabs? I strongly recommend you try before you buy. It can be a crap shoot.

I recently scored a GK MBF800 here on TB. I did research until I was drooling and cross eyed. Saw my spot and grabbed it.

So far my only complaint is that I would like to see more than 5db of boost available on the upper mids. I generally have that knob dimed. Does enough for me but only if I max it out and sometimes could use another db or two.

Mixing two cabs with different driver configurations (such as a 4x10 and a 2x12) often yields results which are less than what you'd get from either cab, alone, as the sound waves emanating from each cab can interact with each other in less than ideal ways. However, sometimes, the mix and match works out well. I tried a bunch of different combinations of GK cabs, and I had expected that the 412 or two 2x12's would be my favorite. However, when I did this, I actually preferred the 4x10 with the 2x12. I have since gigged this mixed-cab combo, and it has performed well on the job. That being said, I can typically get by with either one Neo410 or one Neo212-II. I really like the Neo212-II with a single Neo112-II on top, too (which is also something normally frowned upon).

As always, though, YMMV.
