Gallien Krueger MB and MBP 112

I had a BG250 for a short while and it was a good combo. It was more bulky than the GK and the covering was as soft as a baby's butt. I had an issue with mine and took it back but it sounded good.

I then tried the GK rigs and said why not. I love my MB115 and have their powered 112 cab with it but its going back for the powered MB115 cab this week.

I get great tone and its the simple GK EQing. The BG250 took me longer to EQ and the apps part I never used.

yes your right about the (tolex) whatever cab material they use ... bg250 sounds good the only tone print i use is the spectracomp ... tube drive not much ... i know bg250 is a 15"speaker with tweeter ... the mb112 dont have tweeter , but like i said the size is perfect on the mb112 and 200 watts is not bad , i play at church , is small like.45 to 60 people. guitar player have a 100w fender mustang and acoustic 120watts and loud drumer also piano uses a 100w amp ... i just want to be able to keep up with them , as we dont run pa support ... so ill be on my own ... a single 12 no tweeter , unless i get the extension cab n make it a 2*12 400watts !!! i really like the gk tone , cab and size ... ill see , lets hear the people who owns this rig !!!

If you add the MB112 powered cab you will have a great rig. I used that cab on my MB115 at an outdoor show last week and it shook the stage... I was told to turn down :smug:

The GK's are easy to EQ and the choice to add the Powered cab is a really nice reason to own one IMO.

i will buy the mb112 and powered cab ... i really love the size and dimension of the cab , for being that little is very loud !!! i used it @sam ash and like it a lot also the mb115 but like i said im looking for smaller , lighter solution ... mb112 sounds like a perfect fit ... if anyone have any videos or recordings ... post them up please !!!

I've really been considering this option.
I have the MB112ii for a my small gig amp and a 1001RBII with a Dr. Bass 210 for bigger gigs (I know, not huge, but that cab is thunderous).
But, I'm thinking two 112s would give me more low-end since the volume of the single MB112ii is insane. (Of course, I'll hang on to the 1001RBII cause it's my better half)

Can someone post some pics of their "mini-stack"? Would love to see what it looks like in comparison.

I agree that 2 x 112 rigs are THE BEST!! I have a little more power into mine (2 x 275w @ 8 ohms each) but I never go past half on my MASTER so 400w is plenty! :bassist:

They're designed for a specific purpose, a powered extension to the GK combo using a single pre-amp for both. It's a good design IMO since most people want an equal sound out of both cabs.

If it's a stereo rig you want (with dual pre-amps), then you can buy two combos with an A/B box or an effect pedal (with stereo out) like a Sansamp or Chorus. This opens up all sorts of possibilities; like a 2 x 112 stack EQ'd for low end thump and a second 2 x 112 stack EQ'd with mid-rangey overdrive and/or distortion. Excellent for Prog or Metal bassists.

My MB410-II just came back from the shop, the DI was messed up, but it's now fine. I haven't had the need to gig with it yet because I use a different setup for live work. But using it to rehearse with by plugging in my iPod Touch and headphones is outstanding. Tone to kill for.
I do plan on buying the MBP410-II powered cab to add to it will giving me a very flexible 1000 watts x 810's but I'm going to hold off on that for a few months to see if I really need to add it.

I just sold all my Markbass (2x10 combo, 4x10, tube800)gear and opted for the GK MB115 II and the powered MBE 115 powered extension cab. Got to pocket some cash, and the tone and volume is complimentary to my band and Jazz and RIC 4003.
