I just visited Long & Mcquade website.

Buying from any retailer in Canada doesn't worth it.

I got my 700rbII for 217$ less including shipping from music123(because of xmas promotion)

My Lawyer friend told me that Canada is not like most of the other country. If a compagny is selling is product in your country or if a retailer or distributor accept to ship a product in your country, he is forced to offer is warranty. So my investment is protected by the manufacturer warranty.

Got a GK NEO 210 last week. Got a chance to play thru it at some volume at practice last night. Fire hall, so 'venue' was a bit 'boomy' (up until now I've been using my 15 watt practice amp, so didn't get any where the 'boom' from the practice amp) but the tone and sound was great. Didn't push it to full volume, only about 1/3 volume, but everyone really liked the sound. Used my new 5 string Ibby as well as the 4 string P bass; the combination handled the lower notes quite well. Band practice lasted for about 2 hours, no problems at all with the amp or cab. I think it will sound even better once we get in venues that are better suited to music! I also love the fact the cab is light enough for me to lug around without needing any help - for short distances, I don't even really need a trolly to help out! So this combo of amp & cab seems to be worth the money, at least for my needs.

Awhile back, of the first two I tried, one was DOA out of the shipping carton, the other popped and died after about 3 seconds of buzzing. :scowl: Haven't went near em' since!
Kinda hurt my feelings...I'm a "Huge" fan of my old G.K. 800 head and thought this might be it's replacement.

So far so good though mine isn't getting much use yet. Man, it sounds like a GK to me. it seems perfectly capable of copping what I dug about my old 1001 RB II's. Looking forward to putting extended hours on it in the near future!

Mine is about a week old, from RMC as an A07 revision. So they are shipping the current version if that was a question in anyone's mind.

I tried one of this at the music store today and was really impressed. I'm amp shopping at the moment and my friend lent me his ampeg rig (svt3 pro + 115 cab) to try it out and I was less than impressed. Scratching ampeg off my list I tried the David Eden Nemesis combo and an Ashdown amp and thought they sounded good but wasn't feeling the mid response on both amps. This little box blows all of them out of the water though, IMO. It was just so warm in all the right places and the highs came through quite nicely. As soon as some money comes my way I'm going to be picking one of these up :D

I figure with a VT bass (or two :P ) in front to add a little tube grind, this thing is going to take my rick to new heights :)

Another thing that makes me see this as a good buy is that, besides the price, which is near the maximum I wanted to spend, when I want to upgrade to a nice tube amp eventually (ORANGE!!! one day..), this will not only be a kick ass back up amp but a very portable solution too. If I ever get tired of lugging the big tube amp I can pull out this little box for stuff like jams and small gigs and still get some great tone. Alright, I'm ranting so I'll stop, but I'm exited :hyper:

I play in a 60's/70's rock cover band with me on a Fender MIM J-Bass, 2 guitars, a drummer and a lead singer who hangs a guitar around his neck. I've gigged twice with my MB2-500 (ver. A07) in the past two weeks - once at a small local pub and once at a 200-guest dinner party. I pair it with an Avatar Delta-equipped SB112 as my stage monitor and then run DI out of the MB2 to the FOH. I don't use any pedals other than the boost footswitch (btw - I'd love it if the boost also boosted my DI signal rather than just the speaker out).

I've been getting great comments by the sound guys on my tone and the ability to hear the bass cut through the mix. I love the tone I get through my Avatar too - just enough punch, just enough warmth. I don't really have to push the MB2 much since we have the guitars going to the FOH with no onstage amps. Regardless, the MB2-500 has been performing like a champ! I love the fact that I can put all my gear (including the MB2) in a backpack, grab my bass in one hand and my cab in the other to offload in one trip at a gig.

Avatar and GK are a classic pairing. The slightly loose low end of the Avatar makes a nice combination with the tight GK bottom. I've been gigging the 2nd gen Neo, Avatar for a year and it's a great cab. IMO - best 1x12 out there until you get to the Epifani and that is a whole lot more coin...

I just cameback from music123's website...they have great holiday rebate!!! and free shipping to Canada.

It's unbelievable that with a dollar that is almost on pair, that there is a 250$ price difference between Canada and USA.

Plus most of the time the Canadian border officer do not charge any taxes when it's not for a business...so i even save the close to 15% canadian taxes...

That irks me too. I just checked out the MB 2 500 at the Burlington, Ontario L&M. $775 Canadian. I didn't check the serial number to see which version it is. I was surprised-it didn't look like a GK amp at all. No GK logo was prominent. Sure is light though. They didn't have any new GK cabinets in yet. No Ibanez Prometheon either-in fact they haven't even heard of it. This is sure a backwater country in a lot of ways.

I like the little GK amp but I'm tempted to order from the USA and take my chances.

I've not found the GK Neo 112 to fall short of my favorite 1x12...
I like the GK 4x12 if anything, but find speaker cabinets not to be the GK forte...

reporting back once again..
I had issues on an A05 i picked up in May

latest revision was sent to me in October
flawless A06 ~ 3 months ridin'r hard
I'm 95% confident touring with it or having no back up

the other 5% is the Devil...waiting.....:hiding:

I love this amp, looking forward to checkin out the 'MB fusion'

I had to put new strings on my P bass a couple of months ago (chromes..... changed to top load from thru body..... long story), but man, I've just been sick of my tone since. Well, the chromes have finally broken in, and you just wouldn't believe all the booty comin' from my single GK 112 neo at rehearsal last night! We're playing out tonight in a club that likes to be able to hear the patrons order over the band..... just perfect for my 112. My GK 12's (212 and 112) have got to be my fav cabs ever.

I'm really considering one of the MB's for a spare to my 700rbII, along with another 112. MB or 400rbIV..... I'm so confused!
