are you pressing the power button pretty firmly? ,.. not trying to be a douche.. i just know that if you do a quick push with the power button it doesnt always engage fully and turns off.

Sounds like your Blue light is out. Magenta is the red with the blue. Maybe the connection on the blue light is loose or disconnected. Take a look inside real quick.

Duh! Don't know why I didn't think of that. Don't want to open it myselfas it is still under warranty. Would only be three days to get it back when I send it in. Feel better though now. Thanks for thinking of what I couldn't. Fresh set of eyes. Guess I assumed worse given the type of problems some have had with this amp.

IMHO, don't try to repair the amp yourself while it's under warranty. Send it back. Have them fix it properly without voiding any remaining warranty, and also, to make sure there isn't something else going on that's actually wrong despite the APPARENT normal operation at the moment.

If it were me, taking an amp to a gig, I'd want there to be NO QUESTION the amp was working right.

Well... Jason works for the company. Of course, I was not referring to any of the GK's with a tube; only the EQ section. Jason told me at BPL that, "they all are voiced exactly the same"... I'm sure someone here will tell me I didn't hear him correctly and that may be, but I know what I was told.... :cool:

*I totally agree. Besides, GK is just a few hours down the road from me. Last time I sent it in it was gone a total of three days. I have already contacted their service department and am just waiting to hear back from them after the holiday.

Just thought I would post an update.....It's been over 3 weeks and I don't have my amp back yet. I got the footswitch last week. GK requested I send it in as there have been some problems with them I guess. They shipped my amp out on Wends. Havn't recieved it yet. Have they taken this long with other folks amps?

I'd say... relax.... Thursday was a holiday... so it's really been 2 days, Friday and Saturday.... Shipped out is usually when the pickup is ordered, then it goes to get sorted and then the actual "shipping" really begins....

It should be there by Wed or Thurs at the latest... ask them for a tracking # and track it yourself....

Thanks LowBSix ........I took my xanex and low and behold it showed up. Took it to a rehearsal last night and cranked the lil booger. I don't want anymore live problems. Pleased to say it works fantastic and did not miss a beat. Sounds better too if thats possible....very punchy. I need to contact GK and tell em thanks. This amp makes me sound like I can really play.:bassist:

Mine has been cranking out the low end recently w/o any ill effects, but I did notice the other day that when I went to use the footswitch for the first time, the BOOST light comes on, but it doesn't actually switch the channel on.

Anyone else have this problem?

It's no big deal to me because I hardly ever use it (which is why it's taken me so long to notice it) but I'd like to know what's up.

Hey Jimmy, have you checked to see if the boost button on the amp head is engaged or disengaged. One might over-ride the other. Try turning it on or off with the light/button on the amp head.

Just got an A06 and played a full show with it tonight. Very impressive. The low end is less cluttered than my 2001RB, the amp is way lighter, and the articulation of my notes is better with the same settings.

Plus, it fits in the side pocket of my Sadowsky lightweight case.

The band members were blown away by the sound... no problems with volume. Sounded great through the Berg NV610. Comments that the low end was less cluttered were made, and the singer commented that he heard all the notes I was playing now a lot clearer.

I've been carefully watching this thread for months.

I wanted this little amp so much that i've contacted GK's canadian distributor. I asked them if they would service it if i buy it new from the states. As i tought they said no ( which is understandable since they didn't sell it) I finally decided to go with the 700rbII again ( i had one in the past) because it is more reliable...

I just cameback from music123's website...they have great holiday rebate!!! and free shipping to Canada.

It's unbelievable that with a dollar that is almost on pair, that there is a 250$ price difference between Canada and USA.

Plus most of the time the Canadian border officer do not charge any taxes when it's not for a business...so i even save the close to 15% canadian taxes...

*This is my exact setup. I have run my 5 string through it and I think it would do drop C just fine. Low end is tight and articulate and it can get really, really loud even at only 8 ohms. Amp and cabinet both have very quick response with no lag or sag like from some amps. Very "in your face" note attack.
