Gallien-Krueger MB800

I like the addition of the separate A/B gains......vs the MB500

Tom, are the two channels footswitch controlled ?

I've begun to use two slightly different sounds with my footswitchable boost on MB500, but ea having it's own gain would be desireable ( I think)

still love the 500, i don't even come close to using it's headroom at fairly loud gigs.

Tom, some people have compared the mb fusion to the M9/M6, do you see this in the mb fusion and the 800?

Most definitely. There is certainly a strong family resemblance between the MB500 and the MB Fusion, and I would expect the same from the MB800.

good question. frankly, i could use some guidance as to why there ARE separate 'A' and 'B' gains. anyone?

You can set your gk growl on gain a, and set your clean with gain b. On the mb 500, its a little more limiting because there are 2 masters but only 1 gain. On the 500, if you want your growl on a, its going to be on b

Thank you, JonnyAngle! Does this mean it's not as useful to have an A and B on the 500? Having been using amps with one 'pre' and 'master', I guess I'm still in the dark on why there are what appears to be 2 pre settings. Is the 'a' setting like an over-drive (distortion)? can you over drive the b, as well?
