Gallien-Krueger MB800

Any hands on feedback for the MB800??

I'm loving mine. Bright, articulate, the most thump of any micro I have tried (which is nearly all of them). Using it with an LDS 15-6 The eq is limited, but the center points and Q are sweet for my taste. The thermostatically controlled fan is a tad loud, which might matter to you if you record with a mic, but no biggie with the band. I don't find the dirt channel useful for dirt (I'd rather get that from a pedal) but offers a neat option to have a volume boost that's footswitchable.

How do you compare it to the Genz shuttle amps especially the 9.0?

Greetings all , new to the forum, back to playing after a 25 year hiatus(kids, life etc.) my question is, to those who have played both the mb800 and fusion which do you like better, i am playing a jazz 5 and am trying to decide between the two, also which cab do you prefer(2x12, 4x10), i am planning on getting back to gigging but in rooms 0f approx 100 to 400, .iam playing in a trio at the moment and like the gk grind, i wish i could try either but as we all know there are no demos around . . any advice would be very much appreciated. thanx!! peace

Man, the MB800 has sooo much juice!
It has two input gains (A, clean and B, dirty); a B master and an overall master, so you can gain match, and then switch between clean and dirty with the same overall volume.

The MB-Fusion has plenty enough power, and is a bit softer and rounder.

And just to confuse things more for you:
There's an 800 watt MB-Fusion that was seen at Bass Player Live, so, it'll be out sometime soon...Winter Namm release?

The 212/410 thing...the 410 probably has more absolute volume, but it's also a bigger and heavier.

So i guess its safe to assume the mb 800 has more of an "inyo face" type of sound which is what i am looking for, the band i am in is a pshycobillysurfpunk kind of thing, and i think i am leaning towards the gk neo 2x12. It blows my mind how light and powerfull this gear is now compared to the gear we had in the 80s, not to mention computers and bass forums. anyways thanx for the info!!

'mb800 more in your face'

Oh....I dunno that I'd go quite that far with it.
It's clean tone is a little cleaner and clearer.

it's a chunk more power.
