Mere flesh wounds. Congrats!
Looks a lot like my 77
I think Geddy actually toured with that actual bass. Nice find!
My first thought was Mike Todd from Coheed and Cambria, as that bass is of an old enough vintage, then the look and wear and tear tells me it's definitely seen actual use. Who knows what he did with them as he left the band in 2012 and haven't heard much of him since. He was from NY I believe, dunno where Quad is from...
Enjoy. I hope you get it out soon if you play live.
Why can't I stumble on a deal like this just once? I never get one number on a lotto ticket right!
When i first got back into playing in bands around 2007, $450 was what I paid for a mint condition CIJ Geddy. Not too much later, it was worth alot more. I traded it and some cash for my first Ric. Great bass and miss it.
Prob not his, however, I found this on the back of the original pickguard (that was on it when I got it) and also, a faint signature on the back of the body... The mystery thickens....
Who is Ron Bowen...
When I saw "Geddy Barn Find" I though perhaps you had found an old machine that his uncle had preserved for 50 odd years.
I remember JMJ played a Geddy with Dimarzios back when he was with NIN..
Not a clue......
Nice! My MIJ serial was worn off too by the previous owner. Can you can tell it’s MIJ By removing the neck? I’ve been tempted to remove mine but haven’t done it yet
Here's the neck and pocket on this one...
Based on the shape of the pick guard screws, I would date this bass to August/September 1998, somewhere right around there
A new nut and it will be perfect.
That tuner looks like it was brazed maybe.
Wonder if it spent some time in someone's trunk while they were drivin' around...without a case...along with a loose jack, some rakes and shovels and a coupla loose hammers.
Real cigarette burns!
I’m trying to picture his sweet cherub thrashing in a smokey dive bar. Tattoos, piercings and studded leather....
Thanks..So really the only way to confirm is by our worn off serials
