Roots and fifths and a little extra.
I guess I need to decide on which one. Looks like the pedal is something to be used wtih an amp and can't be used as a DI like the base sansamp products. And the rack mount seems more complex wtih the dual channels, but it can double as a DI.
For me this journey started when I thought my dual mono Carvin BX1500 was a gonner. The only way I wanted to replace it was to just get a stereo power amp and a good pre. So I started shopping for preamps. That's when I found the 2112. I decided that it was the thing I was going to do.
Then I discovered that my Carvin is ok. So... I just GASd myself for some signature Geddy stuff...I had to try the pedal. And here we are. If money were no object, I probably would have redone my whole amp rig and got the rack unit. But I punted and got the pedal. For now.
(I know, I know. But I don't like bringing gear to a gig untested and haven't had time)
