And I'm def not the best here at all to tell y'all in any techy-terms what I'm hearing; just what my ears tell me. And at my age and years of too many loud bands, they may not even get it right.
But I'll definitely give em both a go at least here at home. If NX2 gets here Friday, I can take it to band rehearsal Sunday.

Hi all. I am SO close to getting on of these to match my Streamliner/SMax. Can anyone comment on the mids that this cab produces? I like a very tight, punchy, low-mid/mid-mid kick...and with the ability to sparkle if needs be.
I do play 4s and 5s, and I like a low B to sound tight and defined.

Hey!
Anyone wanna see what the insides of their NX2 look like? I always feel like I never really know a piece of gear until I've taken it apart or modified it in some way. I added those spring loaded handles to the side of mine, and they make lifting and loading much easier, and are great in conjunction with the beefy built in top handles. Thinking of putting slide-in locking plate casters on the bottom, too...

350W speakers....interesting! Looks like they over spec'd cf to their website cab ratings, which is damn good.

I went to listen to my mates' band rehearsing last night. He plays a P bass, LMK3 and the NX2. They sounded fantastic together. The NX2 really punches well,what a tidy little cab.
I've posted over in one of the ampeg threads so might as well here too.
Has anyone played through one of these with an Ampeg SVT7pro ??

my NX2 seller..grrr...delayed ship from Thursday, to Friday now shows in FDX system to arrive Sat. Sure hope it makes it by Sat. Really wanna try it with band rehearsal on Sunday.
Seems to me the delivery drivers' are now purposely leaving the open road looking for deer to hit to delay my delivery.

If it's FedEx Home Delivery, those guys do deliver on Saturdays - but not on Monday, oddly. That's the trade off, I guess. Good luck!

Note that in this case the 350 watts is a nominal rating and when we rate a speaker we look closely at the mechanical limitations that the speaker as a system is likely to encounter. Sometimes it ends up that a cabinet rating becomes more conservative because of this. In part, it's the inter-relationship between sensitivity, power compression, mechanical power handling and thermal power handling, along with the practical effects of cabinet tuning.

Cool. It's great that you guys are more responsible and don't just "sum up all the listed wattages of the drivers." Roger Baer has been rating his cabs conservatively, too. Good on ya, Genz!
FDX failed to deliver my NX2 cab on Sat. Grrrrrrr....
Called FDX CS after 8pm to see ***? Driver had not updated info so they couldn't help me. But CS told me they would now have to retry delivery on Tuesday.
I filled out a online complaint that eveing. As to first, why no on time delivery and second, why no onine update as to why.
Well, I found the GB box at my front door Monday afternoon while stepping out to check my USPS mail. Guessing the squeaking wheel getting greased process worked.
Anyway, just had time to take new NX2 cab outta the box and hookup my STM-900, Shuttle 9.2 then my GK MB500 also tried the Aggie preamp pedal into fx loop of 9.2. Used a Skyline JoBo 5 w/brand new XL170's installed Sat while waiting for cab.
First off with these amps/pedal so far, seems like the new NX2 sounds more "modern" than my NeoX 212T cabs did from what I recall. Not so much scooped as tighter, cleaner lows than my NeoX cabs. Didn't have time to bring out the NeoX for direct comparo, will do that later. Since the NX2 cab is new I'm guessing some slight tone changes may take place with more use. But so far the MB500 sounds best to me thru this cab.
But I rarely use this J5 or the MB500, so I really have to try my work bass, Am St P5w/tapes and tweak the Streamliner 900 more soon. That's my typical gig-rig.
Now, the STM-900 set in the SVT setting, really had a nice big tone and kicked like a mule. Cab was only bout 3-4 feet from me. But I had my 18' inst cable and walked into other rooms while playin. Was good volume/lows-wise but I def need to dial in more of my typical amp settings.
Still have alot of time this week to try the P bass and some other amp settings. before gig in a week or so.
But so far I do like the NX2. Good amount of volume, nice tight lows, some mid punch but I've not tried alot of amp settings to get where I wanna be yet. The cab itself seems very nicely made, feels sturdy, good looking to me, all black, all over, from corner protectors to the shiny little casters. No rat fur like on my NeoX's, it looks clean. Supposed to be lighter than my NeoX cab, will test that soon.
Need to spend some time with it but I think for the good price, quality looking build, easy schlep factor, weight, it'll move to front of my gig-pack soon. Sorry not realy a helpful review but I need more time with it/amps/basses. Hey at least the dang thing got here finally; and in once piece.

Has anyone every tried this with an Ashdown ABM series amp? I currently keep my ABM 500 toned down to not kill my GB-210T (Original XB series).
I had asked GB about replacing those speakers with Neo's to cut down some weight, but the response numbers on paper for the 2x12 NX2 just seems ridiculous when combined with a weight under 50 lbs!
That being said, the NX2-212T would be a beautiful match power-wise with my Head (That unfortunately would weigh nearly as much as the Cab), but curious if anyone has happened to bring the odd combo together.

I have a couple of early Trace Elliot amps and they both work well with the NX2, the Series 6 AH200 especially. The Ashdown ABM and AH200 are very similar sounding heads imo so I'd say the pair would work very well together.
It's a great cab, I went out on a limb and bought new rather than wait till a second hand one came up and I'm so glad I did.

I finally got to play a big gig with this cab this weekend, after having a couple where backline rigs were provided. It sounded great! Big indoor stage, maybe 20 feet long and 12 or 15 feet deep, 2.5 feet or so high, and I used my wireless system so I could walk around the large room to hear how the cab sounded in different spots. It was remarkably similar sounding at all angles. I checked that before my sound was going through the FOH. I did have PA support for this gig, so the cab didn't have to do all the work. It sounded lovely though, and I didn't have to turn my amp up very high (probably half as high as I normally would for one of this salsa band's gigs with no PA).

I just got a NX2-212T. I think it's a great cab (so far...only played it at home). I bought it hoping to find a lighter alternative to my Bergantino HS210 cabs.
A lot of what I read seems true.
Can get very loud and holds-up well at high volume, quick and punchy, pretty tight lows (vs. what I expected for a cab larger than what I previously owned), sounds good at low volume
To my ears it's a tad "dark" sounding + pretty even and smooth throughout it's range.
Sounds great with the WalkAbout, and decent with a Little Mark Tube (500W) I am borrowing. The lows are clear and strong pushed with the the LMT, but I don't like the overall tone match. This makes me think the NX2 would sound pretty great with a Shuttle due to a few perceived similarities with the LMT. I gigged a Shuttle 9.0 for well over a year and it was a great match for the HS210. I bet it would do a nice job filling-out the NX2.
It's nice to have a 2x12 that is lighter and louder than one of my 2x10 cabs. I feared a compromise with solo tone (like I found with the Schroeder 15+L...just couldn't get over that extreme mid-tuning), but this thing really sounds great. And I got it for just over half the price of the newest Berg 2x12 I was considering.
Between this and my Wizzy I should be covered.
I understand the complaints about the handle placement and wheel size, but they are still very useful for me, mostly for scooting around the room (and probably on stage). Spfairchild's added handles look great. But for a person not willing to invest that effort, it seems easy enough to carry wrapped in my arms, gripping the front cut-outs. But I have pretty long arms...
Weight+tone+volume+price all considered, this might be the best deal I could find.

If you don't want to spend $1170 for a new Berg CN212, this certainly looks like the next best thing for this type of cab.
