From the descripts I've read on all the CN212 threads, I believe you could be correct. Now I was one that didn't like the tone of the AE cabs back when I tried one at local Houston store.

Seems the CN cabs have a different (better) tone than the AE's just from reading here. The NX2 really punches well in the mids, still with plenty lows when I dialed em in; I only play 5ers. Using a Streamliner 900, MB500 and Shuttle 9.2 with Aggie TH pre in the effects loop with this cab so far. Very nice and damn loud.

Was very close to ordering a CN cab, glad I saved a few bucks and darn happy with the Genz Benz NX2-212T. Plus I didn't realize I had like $30 Ebay bucks that applied, plus a good 'Make Offer' price and free ship; very happy with my new cab.

I gigged my NX2 at a 40'th party for a big ol' bunch Scousers last night and these guys n gals were up for a party. I was a bit worried when I got to the venue as it was bigger than I thought it would be. There were easily 200+ guests and 60 or so on the dancefloor for most of the night. The cab performed admirally and way better than I could have hoped for. No need for FOH at all and it filled the room with very good punchy Bass.
Super impressed with this little cab !!

Same boat...read so much about the CN212 but never came close to jumping due to price. Read enough I liked about the 212T, and Ed F.'s video review helped a bit...found a seemingly untouched floor model with the Make Offer option.

First gig last night. Due to it's size, twice people offered to help get it on/off the 3ft. stage. At least it made me look strong.

I was surprised by how loud this thing is. I play this stage often, running my WalkAbout thru 2 Berg HS210s or the house cab (Ampeg 6x10). This is the best I have heard myself out of nearly 10 recent performances at the same place (a lot of credit to the sound guy).
Only had the gain at about 10/11 o'clock and the master near 12:30.
Punchy, for sure. Even with the WalkAbout "sag" everything delivered fast and strong (vs. my other cabs).
A bit too mid-tuned for my usual e.q. settings, and never had a moment to turn knobs between songs. The overwhelming mids might be part of why it seemed so loud.

Then I tried pushing it around the UT campus sidewalks with bass, cables and pedals on my back...definitely needs a top-middle handle. Luckily, at 47 lbs carrying it a few blocks was only semi-exhausting.

Funny show, too. First time we ever cleared a room. Wrong crowd...

I put on these caster pads today, designed so you can easily remove your casters, but without needing to drill a large diameter hole in the cab in order to use the more common type of quick release casters. These have little clips that keep the caster plate in place, and they're great!! They make them for different sizes, but the next size up was too physically massive, so I went with these smaller ones that will accommodate the plate size normally found on 2" casters. I generally like bigger wheels, but I felt litk this was a good trade off.

It makes transportation a lot easier! Now I can go back to stacking my head case on top of the cab and pushing to the gig. With the footprint of the cab already being a little narrow and the casters making it slightly more so, you can't be as care free with the cab as a big, deep 4x10 with large casters, but it's plenty stable if you're not thrashing it around. And, weird added bonus, the place I chose to put the back casters just so happens to balance decently with the rear built in tilt back wheels, so if I were to get a little stand or something to support the back of the cab on the ground, I could actually angle the whole cab up at my ears! I will probably never do that. But I did think it was kind of cool how that worked out.

The more I use this cab, it seems to present extreme low-mid content in a mix (more than any of my previous cabs, and paired with my Walkabout) -- enough that I sometimes think it's a a bit too upper-mid and low-end shy. But it seems to open-up/even-out a lot more when I can really crank it. Unfortunately, even with the 300w rated Walkabout, I am still a bit too loud against smaller tube combo amps and aggressive drummers.

I could give you My opinion on CN212 vs (2) NEOX 112T. The Bergantino is tighter, more focused, cleaner, and sounds great in the mix. The Genz cabs are very good (I am a BIG Genz Fan), but the Bergantino wins out. Of course it's pricey, but to me worth it. BTW, I have used, and currently own, both with a Streamliner 900.

The lows, yes. To me focused is more closely tied to cleaner, in the sense that the sound doesn't turn into a wash. All notes and ranges seem very defined. Of course, this is just my opinion. Also, I love the portability of (2) 8 ohm Neo cabs and the options it gives you. These are also the earlier NEOX not the NX2. I have no experience with the newer models.

remember the latest Genz Benz neox are using improved drivers so theoretically should give the bergs a closer run than the older ones

I too concur. The lightweight / portability factor trump the negative aspects, however. I will eventually grab a Berg 2X12 CN cab but for now the Genz Benz is just fine. I adjust my settings and pickup configuration as needed for club gigs and use my Berg HS 410 for larger gigs.

The fact that GB is losing market share and retailers doesn't sit well with me going forward. I gig a lot and need low weight and easy transport.
