Genz-Benz Shuttle Megathread: Part II

call me a believer!

used my shuttle 6.0 last night in a little theatre at FIT, and dang nabbit, had some thick, rich and *hefty* tubey tones. found my new "rock" head... err, cant even call it a head, cause its soo small! more like handful of kickyourbutt!

but finding that my sadowsky's preamp bass boost + sadowsky's low C note + the shuttle's 12ax7 tube + the shuttle's bass knob + epifani UL310 = moving and bobbying bass rig!

maybe going toooo light isnt such a good thing after all! ;)

Well, my friend and coworker, who helped me get into bass in the first place, came over today so I could do his taxes.

He was playing my Warwick Thumb NT through the Genz-Benz 3.0-10T and blown away by the tone! Said he was finally getting the tone he always wanted to have. Man did it sound good!

We also joked how I should start a tax business for bassists - while I do their taxes, they can entertain themselves by jamming on my gear! Hmmm, there's an idea... :D

Seems to me, the Shuttle 3.0 and the Warwick served an important business purpose for you and your tax client today, and as such they were business expenses, so go ahead and deduct those from your own income taxes!!!!!:hyper:

A most excellent suggestion...bet it would fly, too!

Thanks to psychicpet for the video-very nicely done. I'm still a way off from pulling the trigger on the 6.0...though I most definitely have major G.A.S. for one!

My shuttle got a workout this week.. I just run it through 2 aggy gs112s and it is a great match for those. cabs.... I still have not tried it with a neox cab .. that is coming.,. it may be the smallest , loudest mini rig that i have ever played.. and it is FULL sounding and has all the punch that i could need.. I would love to have another shuttle 6 and link them so i could run all 4 of my aggys... I think the amp has Huge bottom...

FINALLY gigged out with my Shuttle 6.0. Small campground hall that has country dancing on Saturday nights. Band was two acoustic guitars, two electric guitars, drums and bass. They are constantly telling the bands to turn down. Shuttle and a single Bag End S15. A few tweaks to get a good sound and had to keep the master ended up around 8 o'clock after the last "You guys are too loud" complaint. Input was set so the OL just lit on the loudest notes, pre volume at 2 o'clock. All my basses have different output levels, so I'm still tweaking there, but overall, the Shuttle worked great!

My understanding is they are shipping out like mad, but they were such a hit right out of the gate that it's hard to fill all the orders fast enough!

I think I read where the amount of Shuttles G-B projected and built to cover supply for one year, all sold out in only one month! :eek:

So your dealer is correct in saying "any day now," but G-B is working as hard and fast as they can to keep up and get them to all the dealers and keep their customers happy. You're getting in on the ground floor of a new revolution in compact amps, and Genz-Benz has taken the crown with the Shuttles!

Big time man. I bought my 6.0/210t combo thinking the 210 would only be good for practicing and litte jams, but boy was i wrong!!! That thing can kick!! I strongly suggest playing it a LOT when you first get it (though I'm sure you will anyway ;) ) There was a pretty big difference in tone after I hammered it for two days straight at moderate volume. It really opened up. Now it's a little beast!!
