Genz-Benz Shuttle Megathread: Part II

I have been playing SWR gear for over 15 years and needed to have my SWR amp reapired. The store that I do business with let me take an Genz Benz STL 6.0 210T to use on a gig I had that night. Needless to say, I was totally impressed (and so were my band members) with the Shuttle. So much so, that I purchased the Shuttle and also another STL - 210T cabinet to go with it. Still hard to believe the tone and power this amp has.
It's funny. You always read here how great the GB rigs are, but when you finally get a chance to actually play through one................
Wow, then you know why we all rave about our Genz Benz rigs. The Shuttle is one of those amps that you just want to play as much as you can.

Here's a pic of my rig. 
Using my Carvin as a buffer until I figure out what to put between my Shuttle and my Schroeder. The Rhino Tuff coating on the cab will vibrate the heck out of the tiny 6.0.

Pinout, schminoutHere's what you need:
Looking at the back of the amp at the 6-contact DIN connector, we'll call the single contact at the top of the connector "1", and the rest of them "2" through "6", starting from the left and going counterclockwise around the semicircular arrangement of contacts.
Mute: Short 1 and 3
Low Boost: Short 1 and 4
Mid Scoop: Short 1 and 5
HF Attack: Short 1 and 6
The front panel buttons need to be "out" (not engaged) in order for the footswitch to do its thing.

Someone may have asked for this already. Does any one know where to get the connector.
Exhuming this old thread ..... I'm the proud new owner of a 6.2-210T combo. The cab section is rated at 8ohms. Does anyone know if that's 2 4s in series or 2 8s in parallel? I'm not going to break the seal on these just to find out. Curious, that's all. Is one way preferred over the other, ...and why? I get that if one blew open in parallel, you'd at least still be limping along on 1 at 8ohms. Would that be the only consideration?

In case anyone has given thought to replacing any damaged corners on their Shuttle cabs, TCH, the only regular source for them, has discontinued them and are no longer listed or available on their site. I found a seller on ebay that claims to have bought all remaining stock and sells them in multiples of 8. Once they're gone, they're gone, as they claim.

I had bought a set years ago from the official Genz Benz parts source at FMIC but I sent them to Sammy Glass at Glasstone to show him what a proper corner for 1/2" plywood should be. Both he and BBC use 3/4" corners on 1/2" ply, resulting in overhang, which, to me is bad form and leads to breakage. Genz Benz got it right when they selected these for their cabs.

Nearly five years later, I'm exercising my perogative as the "founder" of the Genz-Benz Shuttle Megathread in 2008 and reviving the part 2 thread with a 2024 post.
Genz-Benz gear sold very well and there is still much of it out there in player's hands and on the market. Boy, when Genz was popular here, it was BIG. =1&c[node]=15']A quick search of the Amps forum here shows many postings in the past few years on Genz products.
I still have my Shuttle 9.2/12T combo and extension 12T cabinet. Added more amps from the Genz lineage - Mesas and Genzlers - but still hold the Shuttle stack in high regard.

I'm still rockin' my Shuttle 6.0 and two FocusLT 1x12 cabinets. It primarily lives at home these days since I mostly gig ampless with a Line6 HX Stomp, but it still sounds great at home, doesn't have a big footprint, and will give me the juice for a gig should the need arise.
You could say I'm all in...
I have a D800 too and adding some new Genzler gear is not out of the question...

Wow, impressive. I don't see the Streamliner there but that is an awesome collection.
I'm with Jeff. That collection is indeed impressive. Probably the best I've seen here on Talkbass. You're definitely all in!
I'm always struck by how attractive the Shuttle series were/are.
True classics. Relsom: do not sell any of those unless you find yourself under extreme duress.

One of the great things about the Shuttle cabs is they're not too deep, phsically. Other than my Berg CN212, they're one of the only cabs I've found that will fit standing up side by side in the back of a 1st generation Scion xB without having to fold the back seats down... or laying on their backs in the covered bed of my Honda Ridgeline. That's with the padded Tukis I have for them too. 2 Shuttle cabs is such a perfect fit in the back of the Scion, you'd think that Andy or Jeff designed them with that in mind. I would love to have a Genz NX2 212 or a Subway cab or 2, but they simply will not fit either one of my transports.

Relsom, I agree with your observations about the cab depth being car-friendly. Mine are the 12T's- the newer model with the bright grilles like yours. It is a very small footprint for a 12". I can get mine in the back of my Gen2 Prius with the seats up. Those Faitals can put out some serious sound for the size of the Shuttle cabs. The Shuttle combos foretold the tinier and mighty Genzler BA-10-2 combos.
I need to set up mine for a photo to share here. Coming soon. I might get ambitious and set up Genz > Mesa > Genzler L-R for a family picture.

Still rocking my Shuttle 6.2, with my 6.0 hanging in the closet ready for duty if needed,

Max 9.2 still my main gigging amp with a Berg HT/EX stack.
I still use my Shuttle 3.0 with the single 10" cabinet at a monthly stripped down restaurant gig, and pretty much any rehearsal that isn't at my house. I always get compliments at how well it holds up with a full drum kit in a rehearsal environment.
Shuttle 3.0-10t, + 10t still a champ and sings proud. Kickstand the combo on the 2nd cab.
