Laughs! Wally ...you know it man! I'll keep you posted. My drive up the road isn't working out, so I'm gonna call and have it shipped. I'm out of town this weekend anyway. So I won't get a chance to really check it out until next week.

I am taking a Shuttle 3.0-10T to my jazz gig tonight. I have a rock gig tomorrow so I'm gonna try the combo on top of my GB NeoX112 to get th efull 300 watts and see how it goes. Should be cool - tilt the combo back on top of the 112 so I get it pointed at me, but still have the 112 on the gound for some coupling if needed.
I was thinking I neede a Shuttle 6.0, but if this works, I can maybe save myself some money. Don't know if I'll be able to sell the Neo-Pak though...

Ok! It's a done deal on the Shuttle 6.0. Just paid over the the phone and it's shipping out today. I should have it Monday!
I asked how it compared to the NeoPak and the dealer said: He likes the sound of the 6.0 better without question! (Cool huh Wally?)

I own and gig with an LMII ... so you can count on a direct A-B comparison!
Very cool. There's a Neo Pak at LDS now, and I finally got to spend some time with it. My thoughts were basically 'if this had more power it would be killer'. So, I bet the 6.0 will be just as loud and punchy as the LMII with that 'tube' thing for those that dig it. While I could dial in a very nice clean tone with the Neo Pak, I could always hear that little git of grit and grind of the tube.... not a bad thing at all.. nice and warm.
It will be interesting to see if the switch from the class A/B Neo Pak to the class D 6.0 has any impact in the 'warmth', etc.
I'll look forward to your review. I think it will be another week or so before LDS gets their 6.0's in, but I look forward to checking them out!
First, I want to say I just got off the phone with Corner Music in Nashville. I just purchased a Shuttle 6.0 and it ships tomorrow.
Second, I can't believe I broke down and let my G.A.S. get the best of me. Once I receive it, I will let you know what I think of it through my NEOX 212T. I have a funny feeling I'm going to love it.
Third, I will be taking quite the beating from the wife for the purchase. Her first question will be, "You own the GBE 750 why the hell do you need this??!?!?!?!?" I'm sure I'll give some lame answer about the weight difference and easier to move around for my gigs. She won't buy it though. I read somewhere on the forum it's easier to exaplin the purchase than getting permission to make the purchase. I have always found that to be true.
BTW, the people at Corner Music were AWESOME to deal with!! Friendly and professional. Makes me wish I still lived in that area. (Clarksville about 24 years ago)

Corner Music is one of the best stores I've ever dealt with. They've also got a great bass selection.
That's where I've changed a bit. I initially liked the tube warmth more, but I've grown to prefer the FET channel on my 1200. I thought I would be transition from a Neo-pak to a Shuttle 6.0, but now I have some reservations. I'm thinking that I might wait to see what else will be happening in the future before I make a move.
Anyway, I'm just glad you're getting the chance to try some of this stuff out! I know you'll be a fair and honest reviewer, even if the equipment isn't your thing.
It seems to be beautiful sounding stuff, but I'm definitely not a tube pre guy, so that also has me thinking the 6.0 won't be for me, and the 3.0 would be quite a step down in power from what I'm currently using. That being said, this stuff all sound so good now that it's just a matter of finding a voicing you like in these little heads, whether it's a little tube warmth and grind of the Genz Neo Pak or I assume the 6.0, the fat, warm mids of the AI stuff, or the clean SS tight punch of the MB F1 or LMII... lot's of great stuff, and it will all knock a wall down into 4ohms!!!!
I'm there as well. I very much love the FET channel on both my GBE600 and the Shuttle 3.0. It's an extremely warm solid state sound, and I just love it. It is actually making me consider pairing it with an Acoustic Image Focus SA mini-poweramp for the mini-big-rig (total weight of the two would be 6.25 pounds!). Some claim that AI power ratings are a bit optimistic ... but even if it's off by 10% or so, that's still 700+ watts at 4 ohms, 900 watts at 2 ohms.
Put the two of them in a little custom wooden rack I'd build, and I'd have a nice 7 pound block of tone and power.
For the times when the 3.0 just isn't quite enough by itself, that is. And for the majority of my stuff, the 3.0 ministack is just fine.
