the unit itself had no visible damage--just a crease on the side of the cardboard box which ---who knows---could have been UPS but may not have been

It's not even so much the LTL shipping on a pallet (though I did once receive a pallet that had obviously come apart and everything was replace on the skid upside down and shrink-wrapped. eek) but the handling by UPS and FedEx. They handle millions of packages a day and sometimes they get kind of rough because they are always in a hurry.

Tell me about it. I used to work for UPS years ago as a truck loader. Boxes are literally thrown. It's cheaper for them to deal with the shipping damages that they incur by doing everything in a hurry than it is to be slow and methodical and take twice as long.

especially since they make it so difficult to get a claim processed---you can do it--but it better be worth your time

received 7pm CST Thursday---by 11:30 am Friday they have a replacement in route for overnight delivery.

may still be able to use it on Saturday evening bar gig

OMFG-----ok I'm a believer.


PS---not only that--the dealer was great too. the bass place in AZ was going to send their last one to me but GB beat them to it.

Also, I just received a followup call from Jeff himself and he's sending me out a shirt. wonderful---ok--no need to consider any other brand---ever! Does GB make guitars? :)

Every time I think I can no longer be amazed at Genz Benz customer service, something new comes along ... that still amazes me.

Genz Benz Guys: you really are hitting it out of the park, both with your products and with the astonishing level of service you provide. I just can't say it enough ... you rock. Lots.

thanks for all the kind words. Once you get to a certain level of product, tone and such is subjective. But, we can control how people feel about our service. We want to make sure we turn that into an absolute in that nobody can match us.

It's good marketing/PR, it's fun and it's the right thing to do.

Ok ...Very quick Shuttle 6.0 first listen through my Epifani UL310. I took 20 minutes and quickly went back and forth between LMII and Shuttle 6.0 so I could post an intitial impression.

In short ... The Shuttle 6.0 rocks! This amp has VERY, Very cool vibe and my first impression is: I like it. I like it a LOT!!. It has, or is capable of offering a woolier, tube amp vibe than the LMII depending on how the input gain is set up. I copped some tones that almost sounded like there is a mild, but hip compressor. (Which is a sound I like!) It offers very cool rock/R&B, old school tones straight out the amp. My first instinct was that I could more quickly dial in a vintage amp tone with the Shuttle 6.0 than with the LMII. But, After playing with the eq and the signal shape buttons, the Shuttle 6.0 can easily get a sweet sparkly high end that is full sounding, not brittle, and it easily nails a really cool funk/slap tone! On first listen, it seems to be capable of many, many tonal colors ranging from R&B, Rock, to cleaner, faster more modern sounds. I'll have to crank it a bit and check the low B string for headroom, but it sure sounds like it has as much power as the LMII. But it seems to present a bit more vintagey, midrange punch.

The LMII seems quicker, faster and is more mid/high oriented. The LMII still has a presence, and quickness, but it sounds a bit more solid state while retaining the warm, sweet presence LMII lovers appreciate. I can dial in more vintage, old school tones from the LMII by dialing up the VLE knob (Vintage loudspeaker emulator). These amps are different, but the same in that they are powerful, uber light weight giant killers.

Can't wait to try it on a gig!

Oh, and the Shuttle 6.0 Cordura carrying case is sweeet!

I don't have any gigs this weekend so no chance for a gig test until next week. (scheduled time off) But then I have a over a dozen gigs in a row starting next week.

Bottom line. The 6.0 is cool and worthy of a very serious comparison with multiple ears and multiple basses. More to come!

So I gigged the Shuttle 3.0-10T tonight with my rock cover band. Medium venue, medium volume with PA support. I brought my NeoX112 and put the combo on top. After the first set I unplugged the 112 as it was just too much. All I needed for my stage monitoring was the combo!

I think I finally found a combo amp that can do it all for me - stand alone for smaller gigs and jazz, and stage monitor for larger PA supported gigs.

I'm not going to pull the trigger until I try the Shuttle 6.0-210 combo, but I think that might be more than I need and more than I want to spend. We'll see, but the Shuttle amps/combos are definately the way to go for bass amplification.
