Genz Benz Streamliner; Part 4

In that case give us an update. Mine is supposed to ship today as well. I'm sure he's sick of me by now so I'm not going to pester the man any more. :)

Yeah thats how I feel and I have only called 1 time a week since I ordered and I feel like I'm bugging him, BUT dropping that kind of cash on something and waiting this long I don't care if I had to bother god and stalk him I would still do it.

I'll let you know the excuse when I find out

Thanks everyone for explaining what lack of quickness means. This will give me something to comment on when I do some reviews of my own!
I play a lot of fast stuff & do notice that I boost my mids to cop the original artist tone often maybe for perceived quickness?
I have an idle poweramp right now so maybe I'll add a SS pre to compare it to. I have 1U available & sold my Sansamp RBI... kinda regretting it now & should have accepted the amp for what it was, not what it wasn't.
Hoping one amp can do everything is clearly a fruitless search & I may need a SS to balance with the SL? Time will tell. I consider my Eden Nav a SS though as it could do everything the RBI could & more.
I'd imagine the Eden Nav would complement the Streamliner just as a Shuttle would. We'll see

So is the consensus that the SL600 or SL900 can do the DB 750/751 and SA200 thing quite well?

The DB750 is my favorite tone to date. Now, I'm using an RH450, which has been great and can get relatively close to the DB750, but it sounds to me that the SL can get even closer.

One complaint that I have about my RH450 is the lack of sparkle on the high end due to the 5k LPF for that sealed cab vibe. That sounds great in a lot of circumstances, but is really limiting on those new-skool R&B gigs I do where I need a little more scooped modern tone. I've been waiting for an RH450 update, but it seems the SL might just be what I'm looking for.

Unfortunately, the SL vs. RH450 thread was closed, otherwise I would have posted there. However, which one of these lightweight heads sounds more in the heavy weight range? The RH450 has all the power I personally will ever need. What benefits would I get from getting the SL900 over the 600 as compared to the output of the RH450? IOW, does the 600 have the same relative output as the RH450? And will I lose that "note heft" with the 600 as compared to the 900?

i didn't know there was an RH450/SL600 thread. Would be cool to check that out... why'd it get closed? I had an RH450 and disliked it for the same reason you did. I LOVE the DB 750 tone...it's the closest to the SA200 i had (looking for another wouldn't you know it haha). But if i can kick the weight and just get the SL, heck yes!

Check out Kjungs youtube page (kjungbass), he does a comparison between the two heads.
I know when I watch it I have to turn down the sub woofer on my computer when the SL is being used.

I saw that ... for sure it's a helpful comparison, but mostly i'm concerned with the SL vs DB 750 (as that's the head I currently have now and LOVE)

Oops, I was multi tasking and thought I read RH450.
Search this thread for posts by user Elmon - he had several things to say about the two heads.

I was on the phone today with Jeff Genzler, and I was telling him of a strange sound that occured with my STM-900. It only happened 2 times, but after the 20 second warm up, the amp made a faint sizzle sound that got louder, but after about 3 seconds or so it just stopped. The amp seemed to work fine after that, and every other time I've used it.

To my surprise, per Jeff's suggestion, he said he will advance ship me a replacement at no cost to me. He thinks it's probably either a bad tube, or one that is requiring a few seconds longer to warm up. Either way I think this once again shows that Genz really cares about their customers, and have a deep interest in ANY problems no matter how small.

Thanks Jeff!

Well with my SL600 finally on its way. Hopefully by practice day Friday. If so I will post a little review from my end. I am not much of an "expert" on a lot of this stuff other guys are "experts" on, but I can definitely give a review for the metalheads and the newbs moving from a intro amp like a GK, LM, Hartke type basic amp to something a little more intricate.

You can not surpass Genz Benz in service.

I have a new rule, from now on it's Genz Benz or nothing. I think at some point I'd like to go to the Neox 1x12's simply because you can not loose with those guys behind you. :)

Very cool to hear. It's stuff like that, that'll make me a customer for life.

Customer service is huge with me in this day and age.

Checked that out. It helps somewhat, but it's hard with the audio quality to distinguish the nuances, even through my studio monitors. And I don't use P-Basses and I'm not a huge fan of the AE410 either, so that doesn't make it any easier to figure out which one is better for me.

I have 2 of the NeoX 1x12's and will have a Streamliner 900 within a week or so. I love the sound of the Neox112T's with my Shuttle 9.0 and even more with either of my Walter Woods heads. I am expecting the Streamliner will sound great thru these cabs also.

Just pulled the trigger on a SL600.
The last one in stock, They also sold out of the SL900.
Go it from Bass Northwest. (They were great to deal with.)
Will ship tomorrow.
Gassing hard for this head, will run it with a Schroeder BMF 2x15. (No tweeter)
Going for old school thump.
I believe this will kill with my P-bass.
I'm sure my Jazz bass will rock it to.:hyper:
New portable rig, under 50 lbs. My back is going to love this.
If it sounds as good as everyone says, My SVT may be on the block?
