I just bought a SL900 from a music store in Upstate NY for $814 shipped, and it was shipped the same day as I ordered it .... took exactly three days to get to me. That's not $774 with shipping, but for $40 more I got it in a total of THREE DAYS FROM MY ORDER DATE!

Was that the Ebay seller? Are they a licensed Genz Benz Dealer? Just curious. Gotta love the immediate gratification!

What's the deal with getting a padded carry bag for the SL900? I guess the official GB bags aren't ready yet. Has anybody found a good but cheap bag that fits the amp well?

Check out the small GigSkinz mixer bag. It was mentioned it fits pretty well. Not exactly cheap but ive been using one lately with my shuttle 6 as I can get all my cables, etc, stuffed in there.

I had a white box sitting outside my door this afternoon. :hyper:

The 600 kicks butt. Even through my 210 I was getting fat bottom and an insanely warm tone. This is exactly the tone I was looking for and will definitely play the bajeezus out of this little guy! :bassist:

I have used my SL900 a few times on Ampeg 810s when i have a fly date that my normal cabs dont go to.
It will drive and 810 with ease!.. I lower the bass control to about 10:30 as to not get too much low end and let the speakers punch more than woof and it works great..
I rehearse in a studio in Austin where i left my 810 too.. and use the SL900 when i come into town.. I never take my 810 on a gig since i got the 1288s.
Otherwise it is my Quad 1288s.. which are killer.

The sealed cabs have alot to do with the sound especially an ampeg svt810. I really have come to learn that alot of that SVT tone is the cab.. because when i play the SL900 through that cab it is like an SVT with more headroom.. But when i play the SL900 through my Quad1288s it is more hifi or open sounding .. way more even top to bottom than the 810..

But yes i have a few miles on sealed 810 cabs with this head and it is really a good match.. It sort of sound good on just about any cab that i have played it with...

Any thoughts here gang?

Thank you!

I'm hoping that the SL will also help to give my overdrive pedals a bit more feel. Those pedals work well through solid state heads, but really seem to take on new life with all-tube heads.

I performed a bit of "brow-beating" on MF, and ordered the SL600 and a 4003 FireGlo... They price-matched really well!! Not quite as low as YOMS for the SL600 because I had no official "proof" other than this forum (which they wouldn't take)... But the shipped cost was only $25 more!

Would it be worth getting the SL900 and comparing them side by side? I never did find a great answer about the difference between the 2 power levels... I've bee running the RH450 at 8 ohms through a 1x15 (and sometimes a 1x12), which is about 270 watts... I've never had the master vol past 1 o'clock! Of course, I'm not playing arenas either... So, I'm guessing and hoping the SL600 will be a good match volume wise.
