Again, where are you getting your pricing information. The Streamliner900 sells for less than the TCRH450, the Streamliner 600 sells for about the same or less as the Markbass F500 or the GKMBFusion.

I see the Streamliner 600 going for $829 and the F500 going for $779. Google search.

At the end of the day, it is all about putting out a decent sound in a small and light package at a certain wattage range.

You have GK, Markbass, TC, doing that for less money.

IMO it's much more than just putting out a decent sound as you say. This amp is the first amp IME that actually achieves a true tube amp tonal stamp, including the slight sag to each note that a tube power section will give you, and that fits into the micro-head weight class. There's nothing else even close IMO. I like this amp MUCH better than my DB750 for, which I dropped $2k on initially.

So while it is more expensive than other heads I mentioned, it can actually do something the others can't! Thanks for the clarification!

There are many who have paid less for both of those amps.

Both are amazing deals for what you get. If you check with various Genz retailers, most will beat the Musician's Friend F500 price with the Streamliner 600.

Again, I have no 'dog in this hunt', but the Streamliners seem like a VERY good deal for what you get, if you do your homework and shop around a bit.

Thank you for those comments, Ken! I was just about to post that what I paid for the Streamliner 900 is less than he is quoting for the Streamliner 600! (and I purchased it from a certified Genz-Benz dealer, brand-new, in the factory-sealed box). I am seeing the SL600 selling for about $140 less than his price quote, and the SL900 for anywhere from $15 to $40 LESS than he says the SL600 sells for.

Markbass LM2 x Streamliner

In your opinion, how they compare? IMO the LM2 has a pretty "growly" voice, kind of tubey but faster... and I really like that.
Would I gain more of that with the Streamliner?

Quite different and I like them both. The Streamliner, with all those tubes in the pre, is fatter, has much more tonal options when varying the gain control (i.e., pushing the tube input gain stage). With the Streamliner set 'clean', they are in the same tone universe, but with the Streamliner having a bigger, more open low end.

Of course as you mess with the gain structure, the Streamliner generates that 'tube complexity and overdrive' if you want, and has a more 'tube amp' like feel to it.

I would assume the 600 and LMII/III put out about the same volume... the 900 is definitely bigger and badder sounding.

Both amps have that smooth upper mid response that makes them sound creamy and warm.... the Streamliner just has 'more of that'.

Just got the Streamliner bag. It is 'OK'.... average quality and padding (decent, no problem). The downside is it is a VERY tight fit, with the knobs really pushing on the top of the bag when it is closed. I wouldn't really recommend the bag quite frankly. Those Ginskins bags or whatever they are called is probably the way to go.

IMO.

Thanks Ken, really helpful!

Ah, what a shame.

Thankfully, I have the Gigskinz on order.

My DFW area friends can come see my Streamliner900 1288 rig next week .. I will be doing a Benefit for Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief March 30th at the House of Blues in Dallas with Point Blank...

They are a southern Rock, progressive boogie band all new line up... Great guitar players Rusty Burns, and Mouse Mays... There will be some locals opening the show, we go on, then there will be an all star Jam at the end. Some old friends from Foreigner and other olditimers will be there too.
