Genz Benz Streamliner Part 9

I posted on the Genz Benz club my gig reports for both amps this weekend.

Check it out

I really think that I'll be using the Streamliner for outdoor gigs where the lows dont have walls to bounce back from. I noticed my EQ was VERY different from outdoors to indoors.

You guys notice you need more thickness warmth & lows for outside vs inside?

Hi, guys. I'm looking for Streamliner 600 or 900. But first time I'll be using just DI, than I'm gonna take a cab for it. BTW are there light powerful cabs? I'd like to have light-weight amp + cab to take from rehearsal to clubs where I work with cover band.

Cabs seem to be getting better AND lighter everyday :)

Just got a Genz Neox 112T, zactly what you're askin for IMO and on the high end the Baer ML112 or lotta GK folks out here too...

There is a large selection of lightweight cabs available now to choose from .
Personally my rig is a STL600 and a Genz Benz NEOX 212T. This is all you need. I use it from small to large venues without a problem. Plenty of volume and tone. It handles anything thrown at it and always gets a compliment.

I used to use 2 NEOX112T but thought the 212T would be better for portability. Its actually lighter too than the 2 single NEOX112s together. They come in at 33lbs each for a total of 66lbs. and the 212T is 52. So with the Streamliner at 6lbs a 600w 58lb rig is incredible. No more back breaker rigs for me and it fits in the trunk of my car! Couldnt be happier.

This is tongue in cheek cause I love Genz amps! But just when I am feeling happy with my latest Genz acquisition I get smacked with reports of something new and better:hmm: Funny part is I eventually buy one and it is!

Recently landed a Streamliner 600. Found the eq a little strange. Took a look at the Streamliner Tone thread... Played about a little. Took it to a low key flat bed in a farmer's market duo gig Wednesday. Took my fEarful 12.6 and Lakland 44-01 with flats as well. Dang! Nice sounding setup... Thick yet defined. Smooth and round, nice air on top. Yes, very tube like.... can't wait to hear it with my soon to be complete Johnk inspired 2x15...

This is by far the most interesting sounding GB head I've experienced. Does not reveal itself as easily as say my GK MB2-500 does. Nice tone in there though for certain and it is beautifully constructed. I think the two will compliment each other nicely.

@ 4Mal-I just picked up a Streamliner 900 and play it through my D.I.Y. 115's with 3015's in them. I believe the same drivers as JohnK's 2x15? Anyway, I think the 3015 cabs are a great match, tight lows and present mids. If you are planning on using those drivers, I'm sure you will be impressed. I was drunk with power the first time I played both 115's at 4 ohm!

I agree. I own both a 3015 and 3015LF. Of the two the 3015 is my favorite. Covers more tones from low to high mids.

I have a pair of 3015 based 1x15's that the 2x15 will replace. The 3015 is simply a great driver. I love my 12.6 cabs but I don't always need or want the low end extension. Sometimes the low mids thing you get with a semi-old school 15 cab is what works best. Sometimes it's a bare 1x10 ... It's all about having choices :-)

The more I play my streamliner through my DB 212, the more I favor it over my SM9.2. The warmth is amazing. I can nail any tone that JPJ had on any of the Zeppelin tracks. It sounds great with my passive and active Lakies.
