Apparently some of the early units had some issues, but they have made changes that take care of all of them -- at least that's the word on the street -- I don't own one (yet), but I would in a heartbeat if I had the spare change.

Back to topic...I'd love to compare the Streamliner 900 and the ShuttleMax 9.2 with a bunch of different cabs (a pair of Neox112T, a pair of Uber210, a pair of Berg AE112, an AE410, an NV610, a Glockenklang Neo Take 5, and one of Duke's upcoming Thunderchild 115). That would be an awesome shootout!

Not sure the Streamliner could get clean and quick enough to hook up with my own tone goals, but it would be fun trying it out, I'm sure.

SMax 9.2, Mesa M9, & TCE RH750 are at the top of my current GAS list.

I believe or it appears to me; the Carbines are built on the MBassis 2000 platform which were plagued with the same hiss problem. I owned the MBassis for about two weeks and took it back. I played several of the Carbines and all hissed pretty bad.

That is not a stab at Mesa at all. IMO the Mark III guitar amp and the Bass 400 were the best tube amps ever built. I just think there is an issue with design on those units.

The Streamliner is just a leap forward in the marriage of Tube and Class D that hit the old school nail squarely on the head.

I went to the GB Clinic and Doug Johns was playing through a Streamliner 900 doing his slap and loop thing and it was pretty damn clean AND quick. Surprisingly so actually.

First he played through a Shuttle 6.0 (super quick and tight) and then he went to the STL 900 and it was awesome. Not as clean for sure but not as big a difference as you might've thought.

It definitely wouldn't have done for me if it wasn't able to get at least somewhat clean and quick. Thankfully, they do, much moreso than I expected.

Hey guys are any of you who own the Streamliner 600 running it at 8 ohms in a band setting? I am going to change cabs sometime down the road, and was thinking about going to a 1x15 cab at
8 ohms and adding another later. Do you get enough volume with 375 watts?

My Streamliner900 came in! The tone is exactly what I imagined and wanted! The combination of smooth low-end from the Streamliner plus the hard hitting low mids of my Berg AE410 is a match made in heaven! I love the tone I get from my 60s J-bass and I can't wait to gig with it!

Here's a pic of my Streamliner with the rackmount kit installed.

After six months of following this thread I broke down and bought the SL900. Nearly every owner raves about the fat clean tubey tone of this amp, and I like it as well. BUT, what I am loving about this amp is the mild overdrive when the gain is pushed with a passive instrument! I feel that it does the slightly overdriven SVT sound WAAAAAY better than the VT pedal I had. It gets the grit on top when you really dig in but keeps the fat, thick bottom end...... all without being boomy! Some of the guys on here took some time to connect with the Streamliner..... my advice is to TWIST THE KNOBS. Really play with pushing the gain, you can make it very responsive to your playing, i.e. clean and warm durning normally passages and woolly when you dig in. This head is absolutely perfect for the rock music my band plays!

My favorite setting so far is:

Gain Button - IN

Gain - 2 o'clock

volume - 10:00

Bass - 10:30

Mid - 2:00

Mid Freq - 2.5 k

Treble - 11:00

Master - Set to need



These controls are considerably different than all the other amps I have played. You cannot get too extreme with the settings, so TWIST AWAY!

Yesterday I tried 3 of my basses with all kinds of settings and styles. My Pbass with Bill Lawrence P46 and Powerflats, my Geddy Lee Jazz with Dimarzio Model Js and Chrome flats, and my Thunderbird with Rotosounds.

The Geddy blew me away! Fingerstyle, pick, slap, it all killed!

I LOVE THIS AMP!

Sweeeeet setup. And the spotlight is the right touch, isn't it?
Is that a Gamma pad you have there as well? Do you really need that for the 210? or is it more just protecting the rat fur on the Berg from getting dirty?

Initially I noticed it while using headphones but when I plugged it into my amp it was very noticeable. For some reason the buzz changes when I dime the mids either full bore or almost off. CHanging the bass or treble settings doesn't impact the noise though.

Yip had this exact problem on my first. Mids affected it, but bass/treble did not. Not sure if Jeff ever stated what it was but the sent me a new one right away.
