Usually, preamp tubes are no trouble.

I'm thinking I'll buy a heavy duty after market one but I shouldn't have too. I mean c'mon a power cord that is loose, wobbly, and won't stay connected to the head???
The SOUND though. It slays me and nothing but my NYBWs slay me.
People don't realize what a sewer the NOS tube market has become. We're not the only people scrabbling for old tubes- there are also vintage TV, hi-fi, and radio fans.Red Planet said:I guess you did not get the sarcasm in my post.
This was a NOS tube I paid 50 bucks for. Oh well. It's just a tube.
Musicman20 had the only reported power cord/power jack problem.
However, before you jump to conclusions, agedhorse advises that G-B spec'd a high grade cable with a tight, almost interference fit. If you're used to to loose, easy feel of inexpensive cord sets, you may not be pushing hard enough to fully seat the cord.
Try eyeballing the connection, and make sure that the plug is always seated all the way. If it isn't, it may make an unreliable connection.
If there really is a problem with the cord, G-B will make good.

I already heard back from Jeff
Anyway, THANKS for the tip. I pushed a little harder than I was comfortable and voila' it's in rock solid. I think I will just leave it connected. I love that solid connection but don't like the repetitive in/out of a tight connection like that.
