GenzBenz Streamliner Pt 8...

Even better. If that is based on the 3015 'non LF' my feeling is the same, but even better than the 3012 non LF. Nice crunch up top, and a big but controlled low end that the Streamliner really likes.

That's what the Super Fifteen is like. The Dubster is a fatter smoother sounding version with very little treble - for those that rarely change their strings and roll their tone back. An awesome one trick pony! :)

There's one! ;)

Yup thats my rig and I am very happy with it. For starters I cant believe how light it is for a 2x15 cab.

Perfect for the Ska and Reggae we do, big, fat, forceful bass but without any mud.

But....

My band had a punk gig the other night so I slapped some rounds on the bass and dug in with a pick. Got a fantastic grind and growl coming out of the cab. There seems to be enough detail in the mids/high mids to carry it off.

Very pleased :D

That's a very nice 3-way LDS. I'll bet that rocks. A midrange driver with dual 12s really fills in those upper mids. This is mine with the STM900. I just got to use it at band practice for the first time and it's the perfect fingerstyle tone for me. It's thick and supportive but still tight and articulate. Mids are very present but smooth, not harsh and sit great in the mix. I thought a low end monster like this might be too much of a good thing with the Streamliner but setting the bass at 10:00 and 600 Hz mids at 2:00 balances it just right. Even though it didn't sound loud to me, I had to turn down to blend right with the rest of the band.
Great amp; this thing has authority!

I remember your thread when you built that cab...great work! Still loving the sound of it?

I received another LDS 156 to go with my original LDS156 cab and SL900. Sounds fantastic. Ample power from the SL900 for both cabs.

Hey guys i'm doin some cab shopping for my Streamliner 600 can anyone tell me how the SWR line might pair with it. I have absolutely no experience with them?

There seems to be a trend for Streamliner owners to be into fancy cabs- Acme, AudioKinesis, Avatar TB153, Bag End, Barefaced, Bergantino NV and AE's, EA, fEarful, Genz Uber series, Schroeder, etc.

Still, in affordable stuff, I believe the SWR Golight 2*10's, G-K Neo's, and the regular (non-Uber) Genz Neox 112's have gotten some lovin'. The SWR and the Genz are around $600-650 online, and the G-K's are less than $400.

Something to consider: any of the Eminence 3012 or 3015-based cabs should be more than capable of keeping up with a pair of the G-K's performance-wise. Which makes them closer in price than you'd think, on a dollar-per-dB basis...

Thanks guys I found an SWR 410 8ohm cab used for $350 I don't know what model it is. I do know by the look of it that it's not a workingman cab. would this be a good deal?

By a process of elimination I'm gonna suggest that's probably a Goliath. I had the 4ohm version of that cab and was gigged it for a number of years. I was very happy with it.

Compared to the stuff I play now it is very heavy. If you can afford to wait and shop around for some of the lighter stuff I would. However if you can't then you're gonna be getting a good solid cab for your money that should serve you well for many years.

Also ... if you decide the 4x10 isn't loud enough you can pick up a 2x10 later on down the line. SWR do a Goliath Jr which would go really well with the 4x10. You've then managed to generate 3 rigs for your money with 1 head and 2 cabs.

Have you tried these with the Streamliner? If so did it tame the lowend any or help to bring out the mids. I'm looking for a cab that has a prominent mid voice.

No. But I'd like you to buy one and tell me what you think.:)

Just kidding. There is so much talk on mids and low end and whether it's too much or to little I don't know what to say. But generally these cabs have a good bang for the buck reputation. That's why I said look at it. I don't know whether they would meet your needs.

But if you're looking at used cabs and don't mind weight, there are a lot of options. I found a used avatar 212 neo for $250. Not the worlds finest cab, but certainly puts out a boatload of bass in 56lb package. Heck, if you were in my neck of the woods I'd sell it to you ;)

One of the by-products of all the cool new cabs is a plethora of used stuff that's out of style but still sounds pretty good. Just watch CL.

I know that pretty well any cab I get will be an upgrade. The cab I have right now is like the bottom rung on the ladder, I can only go up. It's a Behringer BB410 I think they tried to copy the voicing of the Ampeg 410hlf.

I had a GK 700RB-II with a GK neo 212 cab before I got the Streamliner. That rig had alot of high mids but I think that's part of the GK tone it's baked into those amps. The Behringer is the first cab I got with 700RB-II. I'm just trying to upgrade to a cab that doesn't have too big of a lowend cause the Streamliner has plenty.

GK Neos are GREAT with the Streamliner... watch & wait for Amazon to have sales for GK NEOs

Right now the 410 & 212 Neo are going down in price, they usually decline 30 per day... the 212 I've seen get to $285 which was INSANELY cheap
