Thanks, Jeff and cultrvultr. No, I don't have a blending preamp yet (got lots of preamps, just not a blending one) and, yes, the Acoustic Array would no doubt work great with the upright. If I only played upright that would do the trick. I need to consider bass guitar as well, so I'm on the fence between the Bass Array (with a blender preamp when I'm playing upright) and the Acoustic Array. I'm sure they're both great. For what it's worth, my practice area looks like a Genz Benz retail store had there ever been such a thing ...![]()
In your case I would just get a BA10-2 MG350 combo. Will work great for doubling, and REALLY loud. Once you hear the upright pickup through the combo I doubt you will still feel the need for the mic. The array tweeters are more clear and natural than we are used to from a bass amp.
If you really still need a mic you can either send it straight to the PA or blend it in using a preamp.
