Thanks, Jeff and cultrvultr. No, I don't have a blending preamp yet (got lots of preamps, just not a blending one) and, yes, the Acoustic Array would no doubt work great with the upright. If I only played upright that would do the trick. I need to consider bass guitar as well, so I'm on the fence between the Bass Array (with a blender preamp when I'm playing upright) and the Acoustic Array. I'm sure they're both great. For what it's worth, my practice area looks like a Genz Benz retail store had there ever been such a thing ...

In your case I would just get a BA10-2 MG350 combo. Will work great for doubling, and REALLY loud. Once you hear the upright pickup through the combo I doubt you will still feel the need for the mic. The array tweeters are more clear and natural than we are used to from a bass amp.

If you really still need a mic you can either send it straight to the PA or blend it in using a preamp.

I’m really looking forward to trying this with the second BA. I’ve heard nothing but great things about doubling these up! I’ve been very happy with using just one in smaller settings.

Joe is a military buff, I'm sure he was having fun, he did it for free, he just wanted to come and hang out for the day, we showed him an f-22 and then played a couple songs, chatted and he went on his way, super nice guy, but most celebrities I meet in this job are, they wouldn't come perform with us for free if they weren't cool dudes.

Did an intro show for Joe back several years. Nicest guy you ever want to meet. And at the time his band was the same, all great folks. They were doing the southern circuit tour, with I think the 4th album just coming out. Eric Czar let me play through his amp, and our drummer played on Kenny's Kramme's Smith drums. Awesome.

@Jeff Genzler, is the acoustic array released yet? Can you comment on the LF response compared to the BA 350 combo - is it designed to handle bass or is it really intended just for guitar?

Also wondering how the AA would work with either a BA12-3 or BA10-2 as extension speaker - would that add LF extension to make for a kicka$$ bass amp?

Got home today to a nice surprise- my second BA112-3 arrived! I wasn’t expecting this until tomorrow or Monday- either way I didn’t think I’d have it for the weekend gigs. We leave early tomorrow for a show in West Texas in a pretty large room and back home Sat night for a club date. So the exciting thing is I get to use the pair for the first time in two completely different settings. I got to spend an hour or so of living room testing and the pair together is pretty amazing. Again, I’m trying to go back and read this whole thread so this is probably a repeat of other reviews you guys have put up. But, wow, adding this to the stack really opened up the tone and I had no problem dialing in three different basses. The slap tone is awesome, and switching to channel B I was able to EQ a nice P bass sound- more on the modern side of things but I liked it. I need to work with it- I’m guessing this isn’t really designed for old vintage tones- maybe you guys have found something that works for that. I have a few stomp box preamps I may play with when I have time later this weekend. One thing I do know, 2 BA112-3’s stacked are loud. Can’t wait to hear this rig in a full band setting.

Received my Magellan 112T cab earlier this week and haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I ordered it online from Riff City and got a great deal - $510 shipped brand new. They have all the Genzler cabs reduced by like $200 right now for some reason so if anyone is in the market - i would jump on that. I have a MG800 in the mail from the classified as i write this, arriving Monday and very excited.

Yes sir, thank you for getting it out so fast. It’s all packed and ready to start racking up mileage! Lol. And you are right, of course....super-coupling is a good way to put it. I’ve played enough with one to know what it sounds like on stage, but everything just grew plugging in the second one. I walked around as far as my guitar cable would let me go and it sounded exactly the same from any direction I stood. After an hour or so I did have to pump it up to see what it would do- I can’t imagine ever being that loud, especially with PA support- and maybe projection and clarity is a better way to put it. I’ve played the room I’m playing tonight a few times- it’s boomy and loud. Not really a dream for a soundman. I’m thinking the voicing of these cabs will help.

Well, for me, I haven’t gigged it yet, but.... living room testing was pretty amazing. I loved one by itself, adding a second really opened everything up. It sounds great.
