I just wanted to express my thanks, perhaps a little belatedly, to everyone who replied to my question earlier. You were extremely helpful and I appreciate the time you all took to help me out. As it happens, late last week I found a great local deal on a used BA12-3 which saved me enough to be able to consider adding a second cab in the future, if needed. Unfortunately, it will have to sit idle until I get around to ordering the Genzler 800 to go with it. Once I get everything I'll let you know what I think. Thanks again!
I went out bravely with the single cab when I first got mine. 2nd gig was outdoors with no FOH support and I thought it was going to be the real test. Couldn't believe how well my BA 12-3 sounded and how full it was. Congrats on your purchase!

A friend of mine was just over to hear my magellan amp/// He had his streamliner for years. He heard my MG800 and is set to buy one.. All he needs to go now is update his cabs and he is flyin'
A couple more weeks of gigs with either one or two BA 112-3’s and Magellan 800 and it continues to impress. Took the pair on a couple big ballroom gigs and it sounded great- 2 BA’s puts out a lot of sound. Did a mid size club and opted to use one BA112- again had plenty of volume, though we had full PA support, but it was a room I’ve always used a bigger rig. Loving this load in/out. It has sounded great on every gig I’ve had it on. I agree with what many others here have said- 2 of the BA’s really sound great together. But I’ve also been happy using just one when I’ve done it.

I play a Magellan 800 and still love my old Shuttle 6.0. Been playing a pair of Epifani 1x12UL's. Looking to go with a single cabinet.

It's that time of year again, when I start getting excited to see what new products will be coming soon. 
A Genzler Magellan 115 is at the top of my list. Under 40 lbs, under $800, with nice mid range clarity. I believe they'd really make an impact on the market. I bet lots of people are probably hoping for a 115 array too. Looking forward to lots of cool new gear!

Gigged my 12-3 pair for the first time last night. And I gotta say the addition of the second 12-3 improved everything about a single 12-3 by an order of magnitude. I was absolutely surprised by how much air those to little cabs moved. Big, fat, clear, punchy, articulate. There aren't enough superlatives I can throw out there. I am one seriously happy camper. Gonna have to get the Magellan 800 and keep my Shuttle 9.0 as a back up.
As good as the cabs are they really come alive with the Genzler 800 head. I've tried Mesa 800 and 800+, and the Aguilar AG700 and the Genzler 800 is just magical with the array cabs.
Since the two 12-3's performed so well I'm going to sell my Bergantino NV215. That should cover the Magelan800
OK, in the end I know I have to make up my own mind, but it's always good to get feedback from other points of view and experiences. I currently have the MG350/BA10-2 combo and an MG800 amp. I'm debating if the next addition will be another BA10-2 or a BA12-3. I'm currently looking for a new project so I'm not sure what the requirements will be, but I can always add more cabs later if needed.
If I pick up another BA10-2:
- I have matching cabs (maybe not a big deal in this situation)
- I have the flexibility to use just one or two cabs
- The two cabs stacked provide a nice angle for getting the music closer to my ears
- Each cab is easier and lighter to move than a BA12-3
- Smaller footprint than the BA12-3
If I pick up a BA12-3:
- One cab solution
- Possibly a deeper sound
- I would have more flexibility: one BA10-2, or one BA12-3, or the BA10-2 on top of the BA12-3
So, questions:
- How does the BA12-3 compare to a pair of BA10-2s in terms of volume and depth (low bass response)?
- With the BA12-3 on the floor is it difficult to hear the mids/highs, or is it best tilted or raised up?

One 12-3 array is rated what 2 of the 10-2 arrays put out. I haven't played the 10-2's but have owned an gigged 3 of the 12-3's and 2 of the 210-3 arrays. It's hard to beat what the 12's and 210's put out.
Yes, my biggest hesitation with the BA10-2s is that I'll lose some deep fundamentals that support the music. I haven't had the chance to play the MG350/BA10-2 in a band context so I'm not sure of its capabilities.
That's an interesting idea and would allow even more flexibility. Three of the BA10-2s would make a nice arc and I would certainly be able to hear what I'm playing. The key question is if the coupling of 2 or 3 BA10-2s will provide a deep solid tone similar to the BA12-3 or BA210-3.

Yes, I was following your train of thought on this thread to see which way you decided to go. I don't anticipate having much access to PA support or in-ears but I also don't anticipate overly loud gigs. I'm thinking small to medium venues, and outdoor gigs would be along the lines of wineries.
