What are your go to Settings on your MG800?

Since switching over to my Sadowsky my life has become a lot more simpler with my MG800. EQ is totally flat, using almost exclusively A contour set about just below 10 oclock and that's it.
With my Stingray I used a lot more contour up to 1 oclock, dialed in some more bass and bounced between A, B, and the drive channel.
Where is everybody at these days?

@Jeff Genzler I just bought an apex latching footswitch for the MG800 - it seems to do the job but...
Before I cook something the Drive Channel light is always on when I plug in the foot switch (just a 2 contact cable not a TRS). The switch will turn on the clean channel but the drive light remains on.

I tried to look this up in the manual online but... you have a broken (or crossed) link on your website and the Magellan 350 manual shows up instead :(

They changed their website- i was just on there last night and got the manual, but you’re right, goes to the 350 now.

Doesn't tell me about the light on the front but at least I know the cable and switch are correct...

Basically one position only the drive channel is lit and in the other position both channels are lit. It definitely seems to be switching the channels though - maybe a design feature so you know you have a switch plugged in?

@Loring -- the issue is with the footswitch. I believe it has an LED on it. That probably needs to be re-wired. I'm checking with our engineer to confirm if it needs to be in series or parallel with the switch in the pedal. More info to come. It will not damage your amp, just a little confusing perhaps. I'll follow up.
And thanks for the heads up on the website manual issue. Yes, we just launched a new site today and there are a few glitches o correct. We'll get that taken care of.

It does indeed have an led on it.

Just to follow up, due to the fact that you pedal does have an LED it would need to be rewired in series with the switch in the foot pedal OR disconnect the LED in the pedal and just rely on the front panel LEDS of the MG-800 to indicate channel usage. When an LED is used in the foot switch there is a potential for this issue.

Ok...

Took it apart rewired in series and... same issue (does work fine with no led). Thought - maybe it doesn't need the resistor...
Gave that a go and voila. So addendum is works with led without resistor and it lights up for dirty.

First touch static does come through the amp...

Just as a quick update.
I finally had a day with a little sunshine in it so I took the bass I received recently
outside for a very quick picture as it was only 31 degrees.
I received it after I received the MG-800 and the 210-3 Array.
Chuck Thornton built it for me. This is the last of this particular body style bass.
Finish is Nitro Cellulose, Satin Black with Midnight Pearl mixed in.
It is a passive bass, Lindy Fralin pups, Hipshot Ultralight Tuners, 12" Radius Neck,
Mahogany Body, Rock Maple Neck, Bubings Finger Board and Headstock.
Evo Frets, Nut Width 19mm and 34" Scale, came in at 8lbs.
It is a set neck. Chuck is a great guy and fantastic luthier. I have some of his guitars.
I brought my Genzler gear with me when I went to pick it up in Maine at his shop.
Both the Bass and the Amp/Speaker were great and Chuck
loved the Amp and 210-3. Here is a link to the Bass section on his website.

I have the same footswitch, and the same thing happens. I've just gotten used to relying on the footswitch LED to tell me which channel is engaged. When the LED is off, the drive channel is on, when the LED is on, it's clean. Kind of counterintuitive, but I'm used to it now.

I did run into a bit of a weird glitch at my last show where the footswitch was not actually working, however I couldn't tell that the LED wasn't turning on due to the lighting on stage. I'm wondering now if I had clicked the button on the head to the IN position at some point and this was causing the footswitch not to work.

That would do it...

It' s very simple if you have rudimentary soldering skills - took me less than 15mins including taking a few snaps. Red wire goes on the resistor side. Resistor disconnected completely. Led wire moved from black side to where the red used to be.

I would rate my soldering skills as "nonexistent". But that's okay, it works, and I actually like having the LED indicator on the footswitch itself.
