Genzler Amplification Club

I have the same footswitch, and the same thing happens. I've just gotten used to relying on the footswitch LED to tell me which channel is engaged. When the LED is off, the drive channel is on, when the LED is on, it's clean. Kind of counterintuitive, but I'm used to it now.

I did run into a bit of a weird glitch at my last show where the footswitch was not actually working, however I couldn't tell that the LED wasn't turning on due to the lighting on stage. I'm wondering now if I had clicked the button on the head to the IN position at some point and this was causing the footswitch not to work.
Yes the switch on the front if rhe amp must be in the out position when using a footswitch.

What are your go to Settings on your MG800?

Since switching over to my Sadowsky my life has become a lot more simpler with my MG800. EQ is totally flat, using almost exclusively A contour set about just below 10 oclock and that's it.
With my Stingray I used a lot more contour up to 1 oclock, dialed in some more bass and bounced between A, B, and the drive channel.
Where is everybody at these days?

Drive Channel around 9:00-ish with the Drive volume all the way up. Clean Gain set to match the Drive Channel volume so I can go back and forth. B Contour around 9:00-ish. A little Bass and Treble cut (both around 11:00-ish) and a little Mid boost (1:00-ish) around 2.5k-ish.

Drive and contour B at 10-11 o'clockish all else flat. When I want to change the sound I just change where and how hard I pluck, from percussive thumpin' to just putting a pillow under a note, the Genzler responds beautifully.
I do some ish with this amp, but holy cow you do a lot more ish with this amp. :woot:

How do the two cabs behave together?

Hmmm. I'm not sure how to answer because I don't know how they might mis-behave together. :)

I'm sure that two 12-3s sound better, but I'm sure this sounds better than two 10-2s. :)

Plus, I'm now getting the full 300 watts where I was only getting 150 watts with the single 10-2. (What impedance setting should I use for both of these? 4/8 or 2.6x? )

I really like it. What amazes me most is that I've got it plugged into my active EQ bass (MTD Artist) and it's dead quiet even at full volume (as long as I'm holding the strings quiet). If I pluck a string, the response is instantaneous, and if I mute the string again, it goes instantaneously back to dead quiet.

I've never had a nice bass amp before, I've had a Fender Bassman 25 for years. Perhaps this is how all nice bass amps behave.

My current favorite rig. I probably lose a few points on the Genzler scale for using iem & not using amp di lol. Always good comments on tone from both band and audience. Aside from interest in Magellan head couldn’t be happier with setup. Makes it a pleasure to play.View attachment 2832393
Very cool. Although I think there is a ghost behind your rig...
