not sure i can give an honest appraisal while still in the honeymoon phase with this amp but...
so far it's the best the 610 has sounded for me.
others have mentioned the 'full envelope' of the note. i agree totally with this as other class d amps i've experienced sounded like an 'emulator' of bass sounds, if that makes any sense.
also mentioned in the discussions describing this amp's tone and interaction is 'feel'. i agree here too. almost a tube type feel with this amp, very very close. this cab is revealing of the 'feel' factor and the combination of genz/berg feels real good.
for reference other amps i used; ÷ 13 tbl200, ampeg v4b, ampeg b18, you get the idea.
i enjoy tube tone and the genz is the first non tube amp i've really enjoyed with the 610.
hope this helps, describing sound/tone is as they say, 'like dancing about architecture'.

For my needs this is just about the perfect amp. I have used a Shuttle and a Streamliner before, and the Magellan just moves everything forward. As it happens, it is a good fit on top of a One 10.

I will be using it with a Barefaced Super Compact this weekend. I previously played with a soul/covers band and this rig would have been perfect to cope with the various venues and marquees we played at for weddings. Keep doing what you are doing Jeff, you are listening and perfecting - and the Magellan is just about perfect.
I will take a picture or two of the bigger rig this weekend, although it still ain't that big.

I picked up an MG-800 last weekend from BassStringsOnline and am still in awe of how awesome the amp is. My Genz journey started with a Shuttle 6, to a Streamliner and then to the Shuttlemax 9.2 where I thought I was finally good but after reading the reviews I went for it and got the Magellan. All I can say is "holy cow!"
Someone posted something similar to how I feel that the clean channel, contour set flat and slight bump in the low mids (freq at 11o'clock and bump to 1 o'clcok) is so good I haven't even really checked anything else out. At band practice I started with Drive, Contour B about 9 o'clock but I think I needed a tad more volume. When I went to Contour A, flat, with more volume I was floored. Now I don't want to try anything else out. Someday...someday.
