Played my first live gig today with my Genzler 800 and was able to get some killer sounds in the live band setting. Was told it sounded better than my Messa D-800 that I normally use. I'm impressed with what I can get but still haven't touched what I feel it can do.

Just got a pic of what I'm now calling the smaller club rig. With my killer Genzler MG800, a Schroeder 12PL on the top, and a Schroeder 12-12 L on the bottom (two 12" spks, the 2nd 12" is in a corner fold design). Super light weight, small stage footprint, and can do almost anything. And can even get pretty loud and even keep up with my guitarist and is Dual Mesa's with eight 12" on stage. (He was shocked).

Guess between the tone and power of the MG, and the Schroeder's 102 and 103 D SPL, that little baby can keep up with a lot. Super punch and tone, quality sound for sure. And doesn't take a gorilla to haul it.

What is the best suited cab for URB, electric URB (NS-Design), and Electric Bass? My favorite cab so far is the EA NL-210, but I wold like something with a warmer low end while maintaining the clarity

Spotted Ed Friedland using a Magellan over the weekend with a Greenboy F215..

Yes, he has been using the MG-800 for a couple of months now with his "crazy loud" upright gig with The Mavericks. I hear it sounds pretty amazing through that 2x15". He has great control over any potential issues while playing an amplified acoustic bass through a 2x15 cab!!

Well I sold my STM-900 and just got my MG800. This amp is a beast for sure, but not as woolly as the Streamliner. Is it an EXTREMEliner? Only time will tell. Now rehearsal this week, but I have a duo gig next weekend. Next full band gig or rehearsal will be the true test. Still figuring out the CONTOUR function.

The other night at band practice, I used my MG-800 (yes, I bought the review unit!) with a pair of Mesa/Boogie Subway 112's. While I definitely love the MG-800 with the Bass Array cabs, it is also fantastic with the Subway cabs!

Yes sir! ! The setup in the pic above is my recently acquired ML-115 w/ one of my ML-112's. I like the 2-ML-112's stacked vertically also.

it is also fantastic with the Subway cabs!

Used the Magellan in several rehearsals and two gigs together with a SWR Workingman 212" with Beyma Speakers in it. This combination is my "small rig" for venues up to 300 people. I like this halfstack a lot. The cab is not heavy, comes fine together with the Magellan.

OK, together with my Tecamp L 215" there is more bottom, more punch. But the 212" does it all the way. I am one happy camper. No regret about the purchase.

Looks great. As you are using a SM9.2 too; how does the Magellan-800 perform compared to the SM9.2 ?

First, I am not gigging at the present, so I have not played the MG 800 it in a live situation. But, IMO, the MG-800 Clean Channel is awesome. For now I prefer the B Contour and set it about 11:00. I can get a really nice fat tone that has this helf to the note that others have also noted. Plus, it was fairly easy for me to get a tone I likes with the Clean Channel.

I like the Clean Channel so much, I really haven't toyed with the Dive Channel very much. At this point, I prefer the tone I get with my SM 9.2 Tube Channel over the MG-800 Drive Channel. I'm not saying the SM 9.2 Tube Channel is better than The MG-800 Drive Channel. It's just that I have enjoyed the MG's Clean Channel so much I haven't taken the time to tweaked the MG Drive Channel to my liking yet. I'm sure once I do, I'll be very happy w/ it.

Discussing differences, amps, cabs, basses, in tone is not my forte. Others here on TB can and will do a better job at describing the differences than I will. I will say, I'm loving the Magellan 800, but, my SM 9.2 isn't going anywhere. It makes one hell of a nice backup amp!
