Genzler Amplification Club

I have posted numerous times about my love for the 3xBA12-3 stack, and I have also have one SLT and have gigged with this cab thrown in with two regular BA12-3's. This is definitely my preferred configuration. The SLT does add some clarity and tightness, relative to the BA12-3 (which is a tad more warm/full). They really play so nicely together. I'd love to try two SLT's with one BA12-3.

Tom, appreciate your assessment of multiple configuration of the 12-3 cabs. I am getting ready to purchase just one at this point to go with my Mesa D800+ head. Will purchase another head which will be the Magellan 800. Will probably go with the 12-3 slt to start, thank again.

That would be a great start. If you only have one cab, the slanted front baffle will serve you well.

I'm still baffled at how loud one 112 genzler cab is. I've been doing a lot of abing different cabs lately and it seems as though these are as loud as most 210 cabs, just crazy, I haven't done it yet, but I think I will try to gig just one of these with my 90s rock band. I always have pa support so that won't be an issue, I think it'll hold up just fine.

The bands I have played with have not been particularly loud ones, but there have been some rock bands... and one cab was enough for me

Only once did I wish I had a second cab... Played with a maiden tribute and had 2 guitars to contend with - First and only time I had to go to half volume. Since then (and after trying @SadowskySteve slt) I did add the second cab - an SLT. The bottom is both deeper and tighter. Hard to describe but it's very very good.

OK, for those that were wondering, I finally had time this weekend to sit down and actually do this...YES the Boss ES-5 can control the MG800 with zero issues. Hopefully the video below loads...

I even named the patch (though I use it on many patches w/various other FX added).

@Jeff Genzler Finally have another big room big gig with PA support this coming Friday. Subbing for a bass brethren for a top 40/pop/dance in a packed club. Going to give your preference of my SLT on bottom first with the STR on top. Looking forward to it. Gig report to follow. Also I added an Empress compressor to the mix which seems in my practice room to just add to my set up.

Follow up Gig report - Genzler Stack - Sadowsky J Bass, Empress Compressor = Freaking Rocked!!! End of report.

lol, okay, longer report. Definitely liked the BA12-3SLT on the bottom with STR on top. had to dial back the volume to just past 10pm. The sound guy was concerned with the room being boomy, so I switched to B contour dialed it to 11am position and added just a hair more bass. For the third set it felt like I was losing some mids so I dialed some more in but it could just be ear fatigue as it was very loud on stage. Only vocals through the FOH.

The managing bar tender told the band at the night's finish that it was the best the band had ever sounded and complimented my rig. I will definitely be using the SLT on the bottom when two cabs are called for.

Question for Jeff,
Ever thought about putting all the Magellan complete front end into just a Pre-amp option? Multiple outputs that could feed other Power amps like Crowns, QSC, or etc. Just a thought. Maybe even lithium battery option, rechargeable. And a headphone jack.

That way, walk in the studio and line into the system, carrying a bass and box the size of a Markbass Compressore in hand.

That must be a dealer correct?
It is one of our pics. I used the D-bird into an isolated A/B/Y box then 1 output to the MG800 to the BA410-3 and the other to the MG350 with BA110-2 to get a 510 setup. Not because five 10s are needed, I just wanted to see what it would sound like. The D-Bird was downtuned from the factory and it was ....small dog warning... low notes into this around 1000 watt setup.
