They do sound amazing but, honestly, I'd imagine any bass would sound good through this rig! My Kiesel Vader sounds massive through this rig. I can't wait for my fretless F Bass and my Dingwall ABZ's! On a side note, the Boss MS-3 is also a pretty solid piece of kit! I'm using the onboard compressor, noise gate, and tuner, and they all seem to be pretty usable. You'd wanna tweak them to taste, but they really shrank my board to a more reasonable size.

Speaking of pedals, I recently got a TC Electronic Spectradrive. Love it. The flexibility of this is extensive. For silent practicing, with external source through auxiliary input, headphone amp is very high quality, powerful eq, which I don’t need, but is there. Compressor is decent for one knob type. Drive was surprisingly useful for adding grit. Can download various other tone prints. Very good DI.

Honestly, it's a bit unreal, how good this rig actually is. Last night was my first gig with the MG-800, second gig with the BA410-3, and I'm actually a bit speechless. Same experience as others have said, I didn't touch the EQ, other than very slightly backing off some low-mids. The Drive channel did exactly what I needed it to do. I might be confident enough to take the VT Bass off the board. I just need to find a way to get the Boss MS-3 to switch channels on the amp. My sound guy came up to me and said "if I buy a bass rig, I'm buying THAT rig! It sounds incredible!" I'll get a couple more gigs on this rig and I'll be more prepared to talk about it. Right now all I can say is

On a serious note, I wonder if Mr. Genzler has considered making stands for the cabs? I, among others here, have inquired about and/or purchased stands for any number of reasons. I would be first in line for a quality, adjustable stand that was built for the cabinet. Would be cool if the feet fit into the base and it was height and angle adjustable.

No royalties necessary Jeff. Just send me the first unit for my 12-3! ;)

Along the same lines, any possibility of a multi-function footswitch? That is, pretty much, my only issue. I haven't been able to get my MS-3 to switch the channels. I'll get in touch with Boss for some help, but it would be sweet to just have a High-Quality Genzler footswitch to mute/channel switch/contour switch?...think about it. ;):D

Was at my friendly local neighborhood Genzler dealer (Bananas At Large in San Rafael CA) and snapped a pic of the 10-2 atop two 12-3s. I think it looks pretty good. I'm leaning this way because a) it gives me more flexibility playing small gigs, and b) it's cheaper by quite a bit of bass bucks.

Didn't get a chance to hear what it sounds like but they have a nice 14 day exchange policy (that's actually point c) it is easier to exchange up than down).

Would love to hear your thoughts!

P.S. And nothing for nothing, the owner tells me that Genzler is killing the other high end amp/cab companies except for Mesa/Boogie who is hanging in there. All others have dried up except in the low end/combo market.

It's great to hear that Genzler is doing so well! On the one hand, this Genzler thread seems quieter than some others here on TalkBass that address other high-end brands. On the other hand, having tried various brands and ending up solidly in the Genzler camp, I can see why their gear is so popular. Keep up the good work Jeff!

IMO, it would make more sense to either run 3 10-2 or 1 12-3 + 2 10-2. The 1 10-2 sitting on top a pair of 12-3 will be mostly overwhelmed by the output of the 2x12's. I guess if you're standing right in front of the stack, with the 10-2 close to ear level you'd hear some of what it's adding.
I'm sure you could tell with & without it on the stack from 10 ft away though just somewhat. Out in the audience with a band doing its thing, I kind of doubt it.
I could, of course be totally wrong.

It is quieter because we do not need to talk through problems like some of the others. We just plug and play, then do some occasional bragging. :smug:

Yep. Had a small outdoor gig on Monday. Due to a small stage and hot sun I ended playing most of the sets standing behind my rig which was a single BA12-3 SLT and MG800. I was amazed at the tone and sound from behind my rig! Totally bass heaven!
