A Talkbass acquaintance who lives in Plano a few miles south of me has the F F head..I have one of their 210 cabs that i got a few years ago and i really like.. ..
I have NOT seen his amp .. I have not tried it out. I saw the prototype at a trade show. .
I have to say I Don't like that it's DI is POST Everything..Its Post EQ, Post Gain etc etc.. It makes no sense to me in this day and age to do that.

Its not like us bass players get our own designated soundman to ride the fader for us all night.
Besides that point , from the prototype it looks like a very nice amp..
Now,The Genzler DI is similar to the Genz DI.. Its done right... Pre and POST. Mic and Line.. and Lift.. Like a Pro DI sound be.
And i think that the Genzler does CLEAN Very Well on Channel "A".. One reviewer compared it to another boutique amp that is 2x the price of the Magellan. ..
I think the Magellan looks pretty much Boutique but i'm finding it may be a workhorse under its skin
I am in the honeymoon phase with the magellan.. But ive been there before . And i don't seem to fade with trends as they come and go. i stick to a piece of gear until it breaks usually. I get to Know it and use it to its potential for years. .
I am very happy with the magellan and i was thinking to myself last night and told my wife that Im really pleased with how easy it is to dial in a sound with the magellan.
This term (PLUG and PLAY ) is rather 1990s and waaaaaaaay over used for many years but to me, i feel the magellan is a PLUG and PLAY amp..
Two weeks ago i had it out on my main gig, it was the first time i used the amp.. i was in an opening band spot.. .No Fear, We got a 20 minute soundcheck. i dialed in to what i liked in about 1 minute or less ,,,and I don't remember touching anything for the full 90 minute set.
I know i used a slight amount of Counter A? The BLUE one. at about 8 o'clock.. and with my older genz Uber115s just turn up the Master and it was good.
I'm not ready to look at anything at this time. Its working well..
To make my ramble shorter. Im very sorry But i really can't compare them

Used the BA123 with a Streamliner 600 at an outdoor gig last night on a town green. Wide open space, prolly three hundred people scattered around, not real close to us.
Guitars, vocals and a mic near the cymbals all into the PA. Sound guy said I was plenty loud, no PA used for bass, and yeah it was pretty awesome bass sound. He said if I wanted "more" I should use or stack this with a 4-10. I politely said if I wanted more I would get one more of these.....

Kinda surprised a sound guy would have suggested a 410 with your 12. I agree with your assessment.
Taking both of the array cabs to a small gig on Thurs... look out 
I dont think everybody in the music community reads talkbass or the sound reinforcement forum equivalent.

True. I did my stint in Pro Sound and wouldn't have to of read anything; my experience supports my statement for me. But acoustics is one of those things where psycho-acoustics plays about as much into the equation as tech knowledge, and many think that have something that "sounds good" but don't take into account the overall sound out in the audience. I personally think a soundman has to have the equivalent talent of the musician on stage. And tech knowledge is a part, but only a part. I believe a person can have several tech degrees and know acoustic theory inside out, but if they don't have that "something" of listening/connection then they won't be as effective as someone who does.
So a stand alone BA12-3 works fine in a band setting then? Anybody else doing this?
I've been using a single BA12-3 since December in a low to medium volume church band, with a variety of singer/songwriters, a guitar based pop band, and a melodic indie project - the last two I would call medium volume. The cab has been more than adequate for my purposes but I am committed to limiting my volume levels. I play fretless so earplugs don't work well and I already have tinnitus so I don't want to be in a setting where I need to play any louder than I currently do. That said, a second BA12-3 would be fun. FWIW, my head is a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0. In a few settings I have had FOH available. It is there at the church and you can see the cable coming from the DI in the photo but I don't think the sound person ever adds anything and I play fairly regularly at some larger clubs that always use FOH.
I would also say that because of the dispersion characteristics of the BA12-3 and its size, I find I really need to get it off the floor to be able to hear it well. I use an amp stand that lifts it about 20 or so inches and points it slightly up (pictured below) and find that necessary. I guess I lose some coupling with the floor but there is still a good solid bottom end.

I can confirm with full confidence that a single BA12-3 can handle surprising loud gigs for a single 12" based design. I'm sure you'll hear from various users here that that can comment as well.
Another artist , Jason Navo, is using his single BA12-3 with Christian Lopez Band and their current tour. You can check his FB comments.
Thanks guys. I am looking at perhaps making a trip to Charlotte to demo a BA12-3. There are no stores closer, and not many players around here use high end gear.
One concern I have is the strap handle. Would it be easy to replace it with a cup handle?
I would think that adding a cup handle would not be a good thing or easy to do.
What is your concern? I don't find carrying the cab with the strap handle at all unwieldy given the size and weight.

About the handle question, I agree it would not be a simple process to install some sort of cup/bar handle. There is a lot of internal bracing along the sides of the cabinet that interfere.
As Revroy has mentioned we found the handle we choose to be very comfortable and heavy-duty ---- it will not break. At 35 lbs that cabinet is pretty easy to move around.

LOL.. I have about a dozen gigs on mine right now. Im liking it a lot!!! I hope to get to houston by sept.. Im local in DFW for 2 more weeks....Then some shows in Louisiana.. What i found is the Magellan is super simple to get a sound. Not much tweaking . and its done. I will let you know if i'm heading to Houston Area
Im in studio all week.. One indy record and tomorrow i start a week of sessions for a music recording classes... I will use my MG800 into my uber 115.. Let the students Mic it up it as they see fit..Not sure if they are goig o DI.. one class is based on Mic technique. so we will see.

I just placed an order for the MG800 and MG112T to finish my modular rig of Genzler doom. I suspect I will use the 112 about twice as often as the 212 since the 212 is incredibly loud for its size. But I am really looking forward to seeing what the MG800 can do.
I did a fairly loud and raucous open mic with a single BA12-3 and it kicked butt. People were amazed.
Of course, that didn't stop me from buying a second one LOL! But you know how that is!

Thanks for the replies. I can't make a purchase right now, so I am doing my due diligence. The BA12-3 is at the top of my list, along with a couple others. I don't have the option of actually trying the Genzler (or the other cabs I am considering) out locally. So I have to look hard at the features, specs, and weight.
