I agree...as good as you think it is right now imagine it being better with the matching Genzler Array cabs. They make a huge difference.
Congrats on your new head. Want even more mind blown info? I went from a Dave Eden 410 XLT (checking in at just over 100lbs) to a single BA12-3. Matched with the MG800 it was a complete game changer.
Agree. A pair of BA 12-3's will be the next purchase, after I sell off my Eden cabs.
@Chipit Just an advisory warning. Once you try a Genzler cab you will have a little trouble with the horn on your Eden. My Eden was the sweetest sounding cab and I love'd the horn tweeter. Thought it was best in class when I bought that cab back in 2000. Now it comes off harsh and beamie. The array drivers are in a class of their own!

I have always wanted to smooth out my Eden cabs. They got pretty harsh sounding with my Streamliner 600, but I always attributed it to a slight lack of power. I always felt like I had to push the amp a little too much and the cabs pushed back, even with the horns dialed all the way down. The MG-800 is the exact opposite. Warm, with tone that I have never heard before. I am sure the cabs will be the next upgrade, based on all the opinions here, but right now I am amazed at what this little monster can do.
There are things in my practice space that never vibrated before, especially at lower volumes. That has changed and I am going to have to spend this weekend fixing that. As a bass player, that's a good problem to have.

The MG 800 is a noticeable improvement in the Class D tech... Its the 1st class D amp that really held the note envelope in my opinion.. I am VERY happy with mine. I have had it a few years now, and it still is flawless. I don't foresee needing another amp . Unless I get something like an old school tube or solid state just to mix it up every once and while.

I have looked at other stuff but I've been using Jeff's stuff for so long (Genz Benz and Genzler) that I can't imagine using anything else. Kind of like my Roscoe bass.
Same here!!! Yesterday I showed my wife a picture of my soon to arrive new bass and the Harvest leather gig bag it's being shipped in. She wanted to see other Harvest leather gig bags to see if I got the prettiest bag they had to offer!!!

I’m sure what puts my wife at ease with my gear purchasing are none of our bills go unpaid to support my gear habit and, as a contract musician, I get paid to play, so that money goes back into my business.

Me too. House is paid off, 3 of 4 vehicles are paid off, bills are not late, plenty of food in the fridge and pantry, I don't hang out at bars/strip clubs or do drugs so gear acquisition is not a problem. It also helps that I get to claim them when I do the taxes every year.

Well got the whole rig going now, I guess it’s official! Don’t mind the flannel, it’s hiding my Hartke lol. Guess I need a number? Got to mess with it for an hour or so, but need to rearrange the room so I am not sitting on top of it. Gonna try tomorrow with the slant on the bottom. Guys with active basses, do you even bother with the pad button? Didn’t seem to clip when I tried the basses without it.
1. I use my pad button. I don’t clip the amp without it, but the amp seems more stressed out at the same volume/output without the pad (and at a lower volume setting) than with the pad and a higher volume setting. Could just be my imagination. The output on my lakland is definitely hotter than my old German $$.
2. That wick on the left is gorgeous. What is it?
