If that new 12” cab is anywhere close to the “regular” MG 12T cab that I owned, it’ll be amazing.
I have the new smaller 12T-V and like it alot but i too am curious how it compares to the "regular" big MG112T cab. Is the new cab considered a replacement?

Question for MG800 owners...
I use an MG350 and am thinking about getting an 800 but don't quite understand the two Drive controls.
If using Clean channel, the Clean [input] volume is "on" and both Drive knobs inactive. If using the Drive channel, Clean [input] volume is "off"/inactive, Drive gain provides saturation and Drive volume is input volume.
Did i get this right?

Each channel has its own volume control, and the Drive channel also has a gain control. Nothing complicated about it, so don't worry
I use the gain to get how much hair I want on my tone then I adjust volume to match my clean channel. Dead simple.

@jibass --- thanks for using the MG-12T-V cab and for being an early-adapter. This new "high"boy" is very similar in overall tone as the original MG-112T, even though that was a bigger box, and short, squatty form. The benefits you hear with the Vertical design out-weights the lower profile and weight of the original.
We have not discontinued the original but feel the new model will be the focus going forward.
Thanks for the explanation Jeff. Not only does it sound good, the form factor is much more pleasant for this Old Bod to transport. I also like the taller cabinet which means less bending down to adjust amp settings.

So, I have a question about using 1/4" connectors for speakers/monitors.
I read in several conversations in TB about issues with using 1/4" for speakers and should not be used, and only use Speakon (which I assume applies to monitors as well).
My question, if only Speakon connectors should be used for speaker/monitors, why do most of speakers/monitors have 1/4" females built into the plates?

1/4” are fine but if you’re running power when you plug them in - there’s more of a chance of shorting the lead/hurting your amp.
Just turn off power when plugging / unplugging and you should be good.
Also don’t put the 1/4” in your mouth while there’s signal going to it

It's just a safety thing. It is much easier to take a jolt with 1/4" plugs if you touch the plug while a signal is passing through it. I've taken one of those jolts and it wasn't fun.

Sounds like a good thing to know when dealing with unwanted stage guests!
So, is it the amount of current running through speaker connectors that prevents instrument 1/4" connectors from being used? The reason I ask is the straight 1/4" connectors on the stage monitors at my church keeps getting bent and I think it's from either being used as a handle to help move the monitor or/and the ends are getting stepped on.
I can't seem to find right angle speaker connectors like I can right angle instrument cable connectors.

Short answer - yes.
Aside from that - speaker cables have less of a need to be shielded so you can also use cheaper wire (but thicker gauge).
You can probably use the same right angle connecters as you find for instrument cables. I've had a lot of luck on amazon and eBay finding less common cables with the ends I'm looking for...
