Yes, fuller! But a 112 and a 115 are thick and full and fat!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know loudness is a subjective thing and the only reason I ask is sometime I have a hard time hearing my bass on stage. I almost always run my signal to the FOH just to keep my stage volume down. But my guitar player doesn't go through FOH so he's loud on stage buy fairly well balanced out in the audience. I guess the real answer is to get guitar in the mix and turn down on stage.

Hey FunkySpoo,
Regarding your questions, while I don't have specific information about the Berg 2x15, in general players are finding that two of the BA12-3 easily replaces much larger rigs. One recent player moved away from a major brand 410/15 cab (all in one) and replaced it with the BA stack. His bandmates can't believe how much better they hear him.
This gets to the projection and dispersion characteristics of the Bass Array. As you mention in your post, sensitivity is rated at 1W/1M which is correct. What you get with the Bass Array design is how well it holds together at 15 to 20 feet in front -- as well as off-axis. This is what is being reported by so many users on the forum here. This is where this design really changes how players hear themselves in a live environment.
There are many reports from players that have normally used 15's that there perception has changed after using the Bass Array12-3.

+1 That is definitely a strong point. I also like how easy it is to tweak on the fly to deal with room issues, etc. :thumbsup:

I have a SansAmp VT Deluxe on my pedal board for gigs when I don't need a backline and emergencies. Even though you can use the MG800 with no load, I found myself wishing that there was a preamp pedal version of this head in the odd event that something happened to the head. The VT is great, but its no Magellan. Being able to have the Magellan sound on my pedal board would be cool.

Just a single cab for now (will add another BA 12-3 later). Even one cab is more than enough for small to medium gigs. The clarity still amazes me. I used to use a tube boost pedal (English Muff'n) and have decided it's no longer necessary, I get better warmth and clarity with the amp alone. This cabinet still amazes me. I mean I love the MG800, it's an amazing amp but this cabinet is just the best.

Okay, I've been lurking here awhile. Looking at a new rig- have it narrowed down to the Mesa 800 w/112 and a 115 vs Genzler 800 w/2 bass array 12-3 cabs.

Anyways, how versatile soundwise is the Genzler rig? I am mostly a rock and blues guy, not much of a slapper, but starting to get into jazz, and do have a NS design eub that I am fond of. Not looking for super twinky treble, but can it do a muscular rock tone?

FYI, I am coming from an Aguilar TH500 w/ 2 SL112's, which I did dig, but I felt it was a bit of a one trick pony (although I did like that trick).

I posted a similar question in the Mesa thread. Thanks for the help.
