Shrink wrap the barrel of the TS connector for shock prevention (there will be voltage on that barrel) and do NOT solder the Speakon connector.
No tinning of the wires for the Speakon either, the screw needs to crush the wire flat to make a solid connection.

Yeah, thanks for the tips. Will do. Thanks for the welcome.

I've made before a couple of adapter cables from speakon to 1/4" TS Male, and I am the type that tends to overbuild things... I think I went as far as buying a Pozidriv screw driver bit for tighenting the the speakon screws...

I appreciate the tips...:thumbsup:

The first rehearsal for the gig was last night and I took my 350 Combo and a jazz 5'er bass with set of Curt Mangan NickelWound on it. :thumbsup: Very happy with what I heard and elated to be playing with other musicians! :hyper:

Rehearsal went well, but my left arm (fretting hand) was a little sore and even more sore this morning!!! I was vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday morning! I was told the shot could leave my arm a little sore and it did!! It reminds me of a shot I received in boot camp (Lackland AFB) with an injection gun. I think it was for the Bubonic plague, but not certain, but the after pain feels about the same.

This is just a thought experiment:

I have an SVT-CL into fridge. The treble knob (4kHz) stays on zero. (Tone on the instrument is usually also near/at zero unless it's an EB/SG).

Suppose I own a MG800 and I like the treble (6kHz) at zero and the mid at 3kHz also mostly or completely rolled off.

I know that the crossover in the Genzler 15-3 is at 800Hz, and so the 3"s are still contributing a lot, but I would like to know what they're doing for me (aside from the beaming/dispersion, etc) compared to the 15" alone (whose natural rolloff, if this were the only factor, would probably work ok for me).

So the question is: How does the natural rolloff of that 15" alone compare to the 3"s rolled off approximately the same via EQing?

Trying to answer whether or not I need the crossover and 3"s.

The Linearray cabs may not be for you, and that is ok.

Yeah, I had this Sadowsky built last year and got it in October. My purple one is home tonight. It’s my number one. But, this Satin Inca Silver is a killer bass!

If I could comment, even though you don't seem to want to produce frequencies above 3K, there is still the most important frequencies below that and especially from 800 Hz to 3K. Just using a 15" for this entire range would certainly be beamy and narrow. The Line Array in the BA15-3SLT still projects this range much more efficiently than a single woofer. And the fact that they are dispersing better horizontally means you're not stuck in one sweet spot directly in front of a single 15.

I just ordered a 15-3 to go with my MG800 I've had for three days. I'm sure I'll be pleased with it.
(I ordered before you replied. :-) )

MG800 lows (through a fridge) perfectly clear, as hoped and as imagined.
With regard to the lows at least (and perhaps the whole spectrum, we'll see), it is replacing my previous amp. It's a gut wrenching change for some people, you know. Thank you.
