The BA210-3 SLT as a monitor is perfect for this show. Stage volume is low due to COVID capacity limits. 1100 seater but only a 125 people limit. There is a sweet spot on the stage were you get both cabs perfectly and it sounds amazing!

Rehearsal went well, but my left arm (fretting hand) was a little sore and even more sore this morning!!! I was vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday morning! I was told the shot could leave my arm a little sore and it did!! It reminds me of a shot I received in boot camp (Lackland AFB) with an injection gun. I think it was for the Bubonic plague, but not certain, but the after pain feels about the same.

Glad to hear you're back playing with other musicians! Out of curiosity, does your 350 combo have the BA10-2 or the MG12T-V cab?

Thanks! It felt really good. We all felt the same way, too!

My 350 Combo has the BA10-2 cabinet, bracketed to it is the 350 head. This rig is usually what I carry to rehearsals.

For small to medium venue gigs I stack it on top of my BA12-3 SLT for more ump!!

This past summer I was looking forward to a couple of outside gigs where I could run the BA12-3 on top of the BA410-3 powered by the MG800, but.......

MG800:
First blind (person didn't know I was using a new amp), unsolicited comment from someone elsewhere in the house: "You need to play more".

Now that could mean they think I need more practice, but I checked and what they meant was that I sounded great! This was through a fridge with a mudbucker (which is aided greatly by the clear lows) wired straight to the output jack (no tone cap), treble on the amp at zero, mids at 3kHz and zero, bass neutral. (Contour probably at zero, don't remember). La Bella LTFFs.

*Some* of the mudbucker's reputation is due to the weaker speaker damping of tube amps. It sounds pretty magnificent through the clean MG800.

If you could keep only one which would it be? I have an MG350, but found a deal on Streamliner 600. Wanted to swap up for an MG80p, but now I'm not sure.

From my brief time with the two, the Magellan can get closer to the Streamliner than the Streamliner can get to the Magellan. I also really like the two channels on the Magellan. For me, wanting to only use a head, the Magellan would be what I would keep if I only could have one.

Ideally a Magellan preamp into the Streamliner power amp will be my setup if that ever becomes available.

Like I said, I could be completely content with just the Magellan 800. However, while the Magellan can get close to the Streamliner, it's not exact. I don't see a Streamliner preamp pedal being produced, so the Magellan preamp pedal into the Streamliner power amp is more realistic.

Of course, this is hypothetical.

I finally got around to really reading up on this thread. I've had the Magellan 800 since early last year and it pushes those old Ampeg cabs without breaking a sweat. Previously, the were powered by a GBE1200 and I will NEVER go back to hauling that kind of weight again. Thankfully, I don't go through amps like I do basses and pedals so it may be safe to say that the amp situation has been settled. Now to decide on which BA can I want to compliment it. I would love to do the 210 but in all reality, the 12 or single 10 would be fine. I'm keeping the heavy giants in case I ever need huge, ear-splitting volume for the equally heavy band but I would love to have one of the arrays sitting in my studio.

haha...one never knows until they ask.

I did a show at a large room bar once during the 80's. That night one of the popular 80's hair bands were doing a colosseum concert and they showed up at the bar after their gig. During break the drummer came up to me and said I was the best bass player he had ever heard.
The next weekend we played a different large bar. During break a very young guy (how did he get in) came up to me and said you don't know much about bass do you.
haha...two extreme comments; I take audience comments with a grain of salt.

Pic is about 3 years ago playing using my Genzler rig. My 2x Bass Array cab/MG800 is peaking out of a corner. On this particular setup the soundman made me unplug one of the cabs.

I'd say the 12-3 would probably complement the 800 best, though I've only owned the 10-2 and both 112 MG cabs. Good looking rig.

So, do your mean you had the MG800 "peaking out" using two cabs and the sound guy asked you to unplug one? Was this pic taken during the sound check or the performance?
